Upon arrival i was greeted with rude stares from other diners… I am aware that the workers were not in control of this so I attempted to look past it. UNTIL. I was seated at my booked table and the menus were carelessly chucked on the table by our young waitress with brown hair, who proceeded to have a stern talk with a couple sitting near us for making an honest mistake about seating. This clearly upset them both as they sat in silence for the rest of their meal. Within seconds of sitting down we were asked if we were ready to order drinks, and after asking for more time we were met with a loud sigh and eye roll from the waitress. This happened again minutes later, and the third time we were ready to order drinks. All was well as we were approached by a different waitress to order food. The ordering process was smooth and well talked out and we were excited to recieve our meals. However we were left waiting for over AN HOUR. I appreciate that i was part of a large party, but we were not informed of the waiting time at all. We spent our time here being stared down by our rude waitress, and she rolled her eyes multiple times accompanied by loud sighs when my peers and I made eye contact with her. The food was somewhat enjoyable, but that could have been due to being starved of it for an hour. We were spoken to as if we were little children, however my entire party were clearly adults. No children in sight. The only source of atmosphere was mediocre contemporary music played from the speakers, and the loud, obnoxious conversation of other diners.
Overall a terrible dining experience. Food was decent but my appetite was ruined by the foul behaviour of our waitresses. DO...
Read moreThis was a lovely place to visit. We weren't too sure what to expect, but from the moment we walked in we felt welcome. We were quickly greeted by a busy man behind the bar, he was very friendly and explained he wouldn't keep us waiting long and would be with us as soon as he could. He was very polite and friendly. We were served by another member of staff, as she was free first. She explained we could sit wherever we wanted and that there were plenty of tables upstairs, if we would prefer and that we could order our food at the bar or on the app. We ordered our drinks and took them upstairs. We decided to order on the app, which was very easy to do. We had the turkey roast dinner and it was delicious!! The waitress that brought this over, asked if she could get us anything else, including extra gravy. We asked for extra gravy and some mint sauce, which she was more than happy to get for us. All in all we were very happy with the whole experience and will absolutely be coming back here again. The only thing that was disappointing was that they had no pigs in blankets, but this will not stop us coming back! I visited the ladies before leaving and was pleasantly surprised. The toilets are nothing special but they are clean, smell nice and have the added touch of having an essentials basket by the sink. Very thoughtful. Thank you for such a...
Read moreFood was good and service was good. Everyone was happy with their meal and it all got finished, almost all of the table had a desert. The only mistake in service was that one desert was left out but once we let someone know it was sorted straight away, so you can't grumble at that.
It seems they have sorted out their stock levels for the food as before in the summer when we had been in they had been saying they didn't have certain foods off the menu. We have only recently been for lunch and not dinner, this was the first time for dinner in a long time.
The only thing that let it down is where we were seated was downstairs and not too far from the bar area and where the pub is a local for some you get people in there drinking and not dining. That leads to a lot of foul language and singing of Christmas songs whilst replacing the lyrics with profanities which you could hear in the dining are. With three kids between 5-14 at the table it was a bit worrying in case they would hear it but luckily they seemed to be in their own world. I believe they were regular/locals due to the way they interacted with staff. This could ruin your meal at this place even on a Sunday evening (which we went on) so just bear that in mind. If the bar looks busy it might be worth seeing if you can sit upstairs where you would be further away from the...
