Lovely place for a stroll , just make sure you know how to get back to the car park 😆 We took the dogs for a walk, they loved jumping in and out of the water to cool down and the woods provided most needed shade on a hot day . There as so many paths to follow you could be a regular visitor and still find new places - but that also means it’s easy to get disoriented. Very little signage and no poo bins Free parking ( no facilities but there is a costa near by) . Very popular .

We visited on Friday 06th September 2024. We used the 30-space car park which is situated at the Eastern entrance to the country park off of Cherry Orchard Way (B1013). There are 3 other smaller car parks dotted around the boundary. The park has only been open for a few years and is still quite immature. It's quite diverse in terms of layout incorporating open fields, a lake, a river and a mature forest. Decent signage throughout.

Be prepared for mud.. lot's & lot's of mud in the winter! This a beautiful hidden gem of woodland walks that lies between Hockley & Southend. It's best to come during the week as it's been very busy at the weekend since lockdown started. The best time is Spring as there are several really lovely bluebell woods to find.

The park lies in some of the most beautiful countryside in South Essex a 200 acre beautiful wildlife park made up of woodland, lake and open grassland with connecting paths and bridleways it also provides habitat for a huge range of animals and plants. There is an ongoing program of tree planting, with 28,000 already planted. To celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar, an avenue of 200 oak trees was planted in the park. Great place to lose yourself for a couple of hours walking the dog. Only word of warning! do not allow your dog into the lake during hot weather, as it is prone to blue/green algae which is harmful to dogs and hoomans so don't...

Millennium Country Park on the borders of Rochford & Southend Council. Multiple grassy meadows with a shallow brook to walk alongside (tributary of the River Roach), and circular routes through different fields, horse & cycle bridleway.

You can walk across the fields to Hockley woods (The Bull public house) and across to Rayleigh.

Main car park is on cherry orchard way (pay using PayByPhone app: 30p-1hr, 50p-2hrs).

Across the roundabout at the car park entrance is a new Costa...
