Potash Tea Rooms — Restaurant in Rochford

I really fancied a cooked breakfast this morning and my wife suggested Potash Tea Rooms. My god im glad she did, i had the mega breakfast, i can put my food away and have a good appetite and it filled me up, however i had a wee space left in my tummy after seeing the cakes as we walked in. I had a piece of a coconut and mango cheesecake, oh my god it was the best cheesecake i have ever had, i make cheesecakes myself and think im good at making them but this put me to shame it was amazing. The only thing i was a bit meh about was the staff cleared our plates and left a few other bits on the table, i thought oh when they come back to get the rest then ill ask for a dessert for myself and my wife but after waiting a while i had to go back to the counter where the staff were. No major issue with that though, id still give 10/10, great food, lovely surroundings and very polite staff, cant go...

Popped into potash tea rooms 2 weeks ago, after ordering drinks and food we paid and sat outside, after 30 mins nothing had arrived not even the drinks while others arriving after us had already been served. We chased our order and it seems it went missing. We were offered to reorder but would be another 30 mins at least, we were beginning to get cold by this point and it was raining. We were offered the drinks and a refund which we said yes to. After 10 mins the wrong drinks arrived, another 10 mins later the right ones were brought over. Before we left we checked that the refund was being processed, we was assured it was, 2 weeks later and still nothing! We paid £20 for a cup of tea and to sit outside for an hour, clearly we won't...

Went there on Saturday about 3pm and they had obviously been busy since many tables left with the remains of previous diners. Lots of laughter etc coming from the kitchen area where the young staff were obviously having a good time! I did not see tables cleaned in the 40 mins I was there. Afterwards had to queue to pay because people who were sitting outside were also queuing to order deserts - no staff had been to ask if they wanted something else. More laughter from the kitchen, eventually a second young lady emerged to help at the counter.
