After being highly recommended we decided to visit. On arriving there is no actual car parking. Just a small verge of grass and puddles. I think this ground is actually owned by the farm right opposite where theres horses. Very pretty but difficult to park on. Difficult start when a passenger is disabled to. When we went in it was very pretty, lots of nice nic nacs for sale. A hair dresser right next to the small entry to tea room. Appealing cakes on display. No staff welcome. We walked through the shop and had a look around. Quite small space. Doubt wheelchairs could fit. When we were welcomed, we asked to sit down on a smaller table so that if a group came in they could use the bigger table. But we didn’t want to be told where to sit or sit on a small table. So we asked to sit at the bigger table and just put our stuff down. When seated I felt quite stuffed in. chairs were close to one another so made it a little difficult. Im sure sitting on one of the smaller tables there would have been very difficult. I can see good use of the space but its not easy to walk around. The staff member didn’t have much to say. Stood waiting for us to ask for a drink but we had only just got there, no menu and hadn’t sat down. I just didn’t feel very welcomed. Considering they were not busy I thought they would be quite happy and chatty when they did see us. So after getting a menu and having to ask what comes with the tea options we did order cheese tea. It was very nicely laid out. Salad fresh with juicy fruit in. small amount of cheese mild not very tasteful. Pickle was very nice. Pickled onions looked and tasted like they were cheap. Few olives, again didn’t looks fresh. The cheese scones had some nice cheese cooked well on top. Sides looked like they needed to be cooked and the inside was a bit stogy. I don’t think there was any cheese in the actual scone mix as we couldn’t taste any. The tea was average. Tea pot spout was chipped a lot. Tea cup very pretty. I like the mix and match style. The price of 8.95 I think is good when you receive very good scones. This does include a drink so I would have returned if the scones were better. Such a shame because I know there are customers who enjoy it there and have said good things. Maybe it was a bad day for them today. Sadly we won’t return.

Lovely vintage/quirky and very pretty tearoom/ hair salon in Pett Village. Beautiful decor indoors and great outdoor seating with wonderful views. Popped in after a walk through Guestling Woods. Extensive range of huge delicious cakes, scones and brownies plus hot and cold drinks. Service was quick, polite and friendly. I opted for the Lemon meringue cake which was lovely and refreshing but a huge slice! I also had a pot of tea of which I got 3 cups. My daughter had the chocolate orange cake and a hot chocolate, again very nice and filling. They also do an afternoon tea per person and take bookings. Nice to see a place like this where so much effect has gone into making it look nice. Will tell everyone about it and looking forward to revisiting.

I booked for afternoon tea, asked if we could sit outside we had a lovely view of the countryside, the food ,and tea arrived quickly, service was excellent, the sandwiches were different to the 1's we have had at other tea rooms, including fortnam and masons, the scones were light and fluffy not stodgy, the cakes which comprised of bread pudding, macaroons, tiramasu, chocolate cake, mini Victoria sponges, asked for another pot of tea which finished off the meal nicely, this bespoke place is in Pett East Sussex which is a quiet village, there is no public carpark but there was plenty of space on the road, of all the tea rooms we have been to this was the best, very good value for money £45 for 2 people.

Visited yesterday for the first time. I phoned on Tuesday to book a table for 2 as it was our Wedding Anniversary on Thursday, the person I spoke to said it was closed to call back on Wednesday. Called back spoke to lady who said no need to book it should be fine. Arrived on Thursday just after 12 noon, a lady who was wrapping cutlery said only one table available joined to another table reserved for 4. Try outside if is OK for you. It was very windy so we came back inside. Only table available? despite half the tearoom being empty with reserved notices on all the empty tables. We felt that we were the unwanted guests ! Table we were given was by a door to outside, people were arriving to go outside squeezed by my husband who had to keep moving to allow people in and out. Choice of cakes poor, 1 Chocolate cake, 1 Victoria sponge, 2 individual carrot cakes and a few brownies. We actually wanted lunch but we felt so uncomfortable that we decided to just have tea and cake and get out as soon as possible. One member of staff even asked to clear our table before we had finished our tea! I do lots of reviews and unfortunately this is the first time I have had to make such negative comments. I am very disappointed that we had such an...
