Cakes by Nancy Cake Shop — Restaurant in Rotherham

I'm not one to post bad reviews but I feel this was really needed. I pre ordered a Easter treat box at £22 I came to collect this morning around 9.30am and I brought my little girl with me who's only 5. She saw the counter was full and wanted a cupcake like a little child would as her eyes lit up. The girls behind the counter could see us looking and seeing which one my little girl wanted but never said anything soon as I asked if I could buy one the girl behind the counter said they wasn't serving until 10am which was another 30 minutes. I wish someone would have told us this as we entered the shop or even whilst we was looking. I have a very upset little 5 year old who couldn't have a ducking cupcake as I wasn't waiting 30 minutes until you could serve at 10am I'd already travelled 25 minutes to get to you. I was VERY DISAPPOINTED. Then when I got home I gave my son a cake inside which he had to bin as he said it tasted awful, I tried a brownie and there is just no taste at all so it's all ended up in the bin. They taste very dry and no flavour to them. I won't be returning ever again!! 😢😢 I'm more sad about not serving my 5 year old with a cupcake...

I bought a carrot cake blondie from the shop. When I got home it appeared the blondie was in fact raw, it was barely cooked through. So I made Nancy aware by messaging her, she was apologetic and said she would refund me. She then ignored my messages for 5 days so I chased this up. She then said that she was struggling to find the transaction even though I gave her pretty accurate timings and amounts. Within 5 minutes of chasing this up she then suddenly found the transaction (why wasn’t this found 5 days prior?). She then asked for me to confirm more details which I did instantly. I have been ignored since although 2 days after confirming card details I have received a refund but with zero acknowledgement even though Nancy said she would inform me once the refund had been processed. OMG where do I start! I first tried some of the bakes from Nancys wonderful little cake shop at a friend’s wedding, and when I took some of them home my partner said ‘if we ever get married, we’re having these at our wedding.’ Roll on 3 years later, and we had a Cakes by Nancy dessert table at our wedding! When the table was set up, our guests literally stood there in awe, it looked amazing! Our videographer even said it was the best one he had ever seen at a wedding. By the end of the night, even though there was so much, the majority of the bakes had gone. We had compliments on the night and for weeks after about how good everything was. Thank you, Nancy! You and your team did amazing and it all looked, and tasted, incredible.
