Staff clearly didn't want to be at work today 😒 awful atmosphere, felt like we were an inconvenience. Didn't want to chat despite the place being virtually empty, walked away while I was speaking to her. Felt like we had visited the wrong pub today, totally different atmosphere than what we get when Nicola is at work. She always smiles and makes time to listen to customers no matter how busy it is. We had to wait to ask for drinks because no one was behind the bar and when they were they were on the phone so we didn't end up getting as many drinks as we would have liked. Sorry to do this but from start to finish was not a good experience. Service was slow from the off and then with a party happening upstairs all the guests congregated around our table being as noisy as was needed to put me off being there then getting to the bar for a drink was a wait and a half. The food was bland to say the least. I had the chicken platter and what came on the plate was far from expected chips two chicken nuggets two hot wings and what looked like old dry piece of chicken with BBQ sauce on top. My family and I love this pub! The food is delicious, home cooked chips and nannan gravy are standard and the Sunday dinners are so gorgeous that we’ve stopped cooking our own and go here every week! They also have craft ales on tap which my partner informs me is excellent! Jeanie, the landlady is a fab character and the locals are so friendly, a good old chat with someone is guaranteed whilst there! Special mention has to the lovely lad with glasses who works on Sundays... he’s so friendly and great...
