Really disappointing experience last night.

Ordered for delivery at 7.05pm and had a message saying delivery would be 60 minutes.

Had a call from the delivery driver at 8.34pm saying apologising for running late and the food arrived at 8.42pm. The driver was very pleasant and apologetic. No big issue as these things happen but the food arrived nearly 40 minutes later than expected.

After about 10 minutes of eating we realised that the poppadoms we’d paid for hadn’t been included so I called at 8.54pm to ask for a refund for them and the dips (that had arrived but didn’t have any use for them).

I spoke to the manager who initially questioned why I was only telling them now when the food would have arrived an hour or so ago. A frustrating start as the food arrived late.

I explained the situation and just asked for the small refund for the food not delivered and the dips which we no longer needed.

At no point did the manager apologise for the food being late or the order being complete. I was frequently interrupted by him and he raised his voice several times.

He said the only options he could give were to send someone to deliver the poppadoms now or to give money off next time I ordered.

I didn’t want to wait longer for the food at this point. He said it would be 5 minutes but it’s 15 minutes door to door and given just waited over 90 minutes for food to arrive I wasn’t willing to wait. I also said I didn’t want it off a future order as at this point I was annoyed by how I was being spoken to so said I wouldn’t be ordering again.

I had to ask many times for the manager’s name. He said we didn’t need his name several times but eventually gave it.

I was told the owner (only person who can give refunds) is going to call today so let’s see if that happens.

I won’t order again from here...

Absolutely Fabulous!

I have been to many Indian restaurants and this is up there with the very best for service, food and value for money.

From the first nibble of the warm, fresh, crisp popadoms served with the most incredible chutney tray, with sauces blended with apples and spices, I knew this food was going to be good.

We shared starters and asked for extra plates, which they were happy to provide, with fresh salads for everyone too.

Then came the free portion of the onion bhaji. I don't eat these as I've never enjoyed them, but I was persuaded to give these a try and I'm so glad I did. They were so light, crispy and packed with light and crispy onions, rather than the usual stodge I had tried before. I cleared the plate!

On to the star of the night, the Fish Medley, with fresh king prawns, scallops and mussels all cooked in a sizzling, beautifully and delicately spiced sauce, which allowed the fish to shine without overpowering it. Simply divine. Faultless.

The naan and rice were also cooked perfectly.

The wine was excellent, served at just the right temperature and the little chocolates, hot handwipes and liqueurs served a plenty at the end of the meal were greatly appreciated. All in all, fabulous service, food and value for money.

I would highly recommend this place if you are in the area, or even making a special trip out to try this for...

Really poor experience here. Which is a shame because the food was nice. Hence 1 star purely for that. Had a pre booked table and after being seated we were literally not acknowledged for 45 minutes. We had to ask twice to order drinks which arrived after almost an hour. We then had to ask 3 x to order food. One waiter said let me get a notepad and tben proceeded to do anything but return to our table. When we mentioned our wait another waiter said "every table has a problem tonight, we're trying but 3 people are doing the job of 6". The attitude was defensive not apologetic whatsoever. If they were short staffed the simple strategy would surely be to pause takeaway orders? But these kept on going through, and quickly like they were prioritised. When we then asked for another drink order the other waiter just looked at us like we were an annoyance and said "yeah". Coke was poured from a bottle and was luke warm and flat. Customer service and attitude was terrible. We understand being stressed and short staffed but that's not your customers fault. I'd really work on your front of house staff if you want to keep customers. I don't think we will be...
