We visited last evening for a birthday celebration. The restaurant is well located and had ample secure parking and was visually appealing. On entry, the atmosphere was bright and welcoming. We had a reservation and were escorted to a suitable table and our satisfaction checked. The server was very polite and helpful and very well groomed. I wouldn't go quite so far as to say friendly.

My companion ate a Nourish Bowl (Sticky Rice) as a starter and another one as a main course (long story and a purely personal choice, not a reflection on the restaurant). These were both adequate and very enjoyable, with all items being fresh.

I liked the idea of a Caesar Salad as a starter and noted that they only had that listed as a side. I discussed this with the waiter and it was suggested that they prepared two sides into one plate to make a starter. That sounded like a very good idea. When this was brought out my immediate thought was that my request had been misunderstood as the offering was so tiny. I queried this and was told that it was correct. In fairness to the staff, they did bring out a second small bowl of the salad when they saw how disappointed I was and that was to their credit. The salad was very tasty however it only consisted of lettuce with a caesar dressing, making it the most basis Caesar Salad I have eaten anywhere in the world.

As a main course I requested Sirloin Steak with pepper sauce and proper chips. This was requested to be cooked medium well. The food arrived in good time and was visually appealing, though tiny. You could count the chips. I cut into the steak and it was immeditely obvious that this had not been prepared correctly and had been cooked well done, crossing over to being incinerated. The exterior of the steak was actually crisp. The chips also disappointed as these also overcooked to the point of being crisp and brittle. I queried this with the server and he confirmed that I was correct and that the steak had not been prepared correctly. He apologised and immediately offered to replace it. I have an aversion to wasting food and advised that I would eat it. He offered to advise his manager, who came to the table and personally apologised and again offered to replace the steak. I confirmed that I appreciated the offer but would eat it. A complimentary soft drink was offered to me, which I accepted. Later on, when desserts were offered, I was advised that mine would be complimentary. I went ahead and ordered an Orange Cheesecake. This was delicious.

Overall, the evening's celebration was somewhat tarnished and tinged with disappointment. I must, however, recognise that the restaurant went a long way towards managing the situation well and providing service recovery.

This was my first visit to Albert's and I was a guest under recommendation. The jury is out for this reviewer On a positive note, whilst the restaurant was relatively busy, we were not rushed in any way and then entire team was very professional. The restaurant itself and the restrooms were...

We visited Albert’s Worsley for our sixth anniversary and unfortunately left feeling disappointed by the overall experience.

We were greeted promptly at reception, although our waitress was chewing gum quite noticeably, not an issue in itself, but the exaggerated, casual manner in which she did so felt inappropriate for a restaurant setting and undermined the first impression.

After being seated, we were offered drinks, but mentioned we needed a few minutes to decide. No one returned to check in or take a drinks order again, so we ended up with just the bottle of water we had requested for the table.

When ordering starters, we asked for a half-tomato, half-cheese garlic bread; a simple request, but were told this couldn’t be accommodated, which felt unnecessarily rigid. Starters themselves were tasty, but no one checked on us to see if we were enjoying them, and when our plates were cleared, the waiter did not speak or ask how the food was. Still, no drinks offer was made.

The atmosphere was let down by staff behaviour. We could hear loud giggling and chatting at the front desk and also behind us at the service station, where staff were laughing, hugging, and socialising with little awareness of the guests around them.

Mains arrived and were a mixed bag. The steak, while undercooked, was still enjoyable, but the mash had clearly been sitting under the kitchen lights too long and had developed a hard crust. The tuna was bland and lacked flavour.

We were eventually asked if we wanted dessert (again, no offer of drinks), but after waiting around ten minutes with no follow-up, we approached the desk, where staff were still congregating, to request the bill.

When we asked for the service charge to be removed, the staff member did so without asking why or if something had gone wrong. There was no curiosity or care shown. I then requested to speak to the manager, who apologised and explained he was fairly new and aware of ongoing issues. He took my email address and promised to follow up yet we’ve received nothing since.

This was a significant occasion for us, and unfortunately, the poor service and inattentive atmosphere detracted from what should have been a celebratory evening. Albert’s Worsley fell short in several key areas of hospitality, and we won’t be...

Last weekend I went to Albert’s didsbury and had a fantastic experience, the food / service / atmosphere, couldn’t fault it, so when my parents came to stay this weekend I was looking forward to returning to the Worsley restaurant which is our local restaurant.

We turned up as a table of four plus a baby that needed a highchair, he’s too young to eat off the menu, so just needed the highchair.

We were met by a blonde waitress at the front desk (facial piercing) who took us to the table in the restaurant. To say she lacked hospitality skills is an understatement, she stormed off back to the front desk when I said we needed a table for four plus a high chair. My partner had dropped us at the door due to wet weather so he followed us in and heard her moaning about me asking for a highchair so that set the tone.

She then sent someone else to us who told we could only sit in the bar with the limited menu as we hadn’t booked for five people. Should we be booking for five people? We hadn’t the previous weekend? What would have happened if I had brought in the pram with a newborn baby?

We accepted the table in the bar with the limited menu. I did ask a guy again if they could make an exception for us due to the misunderstanding and we could order off the main restaurant menu as there wasn’t another table in the bar apart from ourselves but we were told no.

There was no table service in the bar, despite the huddles of staff stood in each corner of the restaurant, we had to order via QR code. After ordering I asked a waitress for a jug of tap water, on top of bar drinks, which we got without glasses, helpful.

The food came quickly, but it wasn’t very hot.

I feel every member of staff were not accommodating and we were discriminated against due to needing a highchair for my 9month old son.

I won’t be returning &...

Today we have visited this place to have a family lunch from a la carte menu. It wasn't busy at all so we assumed that we will be served quite quickly and leave, but that wasn't the case - the speed of service and food arriving seemed like it would be a busy evening. After ordering everything, it took some time to get our drinks… when it was brought to us, my drink had some kind of weird floating thing in side the glass that looked like a piece of dead skin. After pointing it out, the drink was changed. Later we were waiting for food. Despite ordering everything in one go and the restaurant being very quiet, we had to wait for our food for ages. And when it arrived, it was only a Margarita from the kids menu.. It is good that we said to the kid to start eating that pizza and not wait for us, as it took a lot of time for our starters to arrive, and then we have waited quite a long time for our main course, which was very disappointing - food that was in our plates wasn’t fresh, the watercress that was served with the stake was overgrown, very old and yellowish. Since when it is acceptable in the restaurant to serve food which is spoiled..? And when it was time for the desert, we were asked if we want to see a menu, despite we already ordered it. We left very disappointed with the food quality in this place, the only good thing it was nice and friendly staff.
