I recently visited Deurali Restaurant in Swinton, and I must say, it was an absolutely fantastic experience! From the moment I walked in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere, paired with the beautiful decor, set the stage for what turned out to be a delightful evening.The service was impeccable – the staff were not only friendly and attentive but also very knowledgeable about the menu. What a gem! This is a both a restaurant and takeaway. We ordered takeaway for two last night, desperate to find an 'Indian' takeaway that would serve us something better than a few pieces of meat in a spiced soup. It was one of the best we've had. The place is Nepalese, but also serves what we English would call Indian. Starters of Lamb Momo (steamed dumplings) and Chicken Sekuwa (grilled meat in medium hot sauce) were simply stunning. You could eat the sauce on it's own! Main courses were Lamb Deurali and Prawn Karahi , with a Peshwari Naan and Tandoori Roti. The only slight disappointment was the Prawn Karahi, but this was probably down to the contrast of this mild dish with the bold flavours of the others. Went there this evening after seeing a fantastic post on Facebook. Sadly the service we got was below average, we managed to get a table, the place was packed, we arrived at 6pm we ordered a drink, 650pm arrived we hadn't even got a starter, there was another couple who were there a bit before us and they were still waiting for their starter. I also noticed there were alot of just eat delivery men waiting to collect. We ordered another drink and that didnt arrive either. So it was time to go. We paid for the drinks and left. The service wasnt good. I'd say the service needs properly managing, also they must decided if they are a restaurant or a just eat takeaway, think that's where the problem is.
