I decided to enquire with UK Moneyman due to the amount of 5* reviews they had and I could immediately see why. Less than five minutes after my enquiry on the website I was called to discuss our mortgage needs in further details. Within the next hour one of the advisers Wayne called for a more detailed chat and a face to face appointment was set up for the following week. Whilst in the comfort of my front room Wayne spent around two hours discussing the whole process and our options which as first time buyers was very reassuring and we had an agreement in principle the following day. What we didn't know at this time was that we were going to have quite a few issues with lenders due to to choosing difficult properties but Wayne was always there to provide advise and support during a frustrating time. When we had more lender issues with our second property choice we started to think we might just unlucky but once again Wayne provided the advise and support which allowed us to eventually get the mortgage offer we were hoping for. Whilst we we waiting for the offer Kayleigh and the applications team made sure they kept us informed and updated which kept our minds at ease which after one failed attempt was really appreciated. I had high hopes from the initial contact but unfortunately the experience went down hill quickly. I explained that my circumstances for a remortgage would be a little tricky as I am classed as self employed (Company director for over 18 years). I was reassured that they deal with my type or mortgage on a regular basis, I even went on to explain some of the nightmare service I had from other mortgage brokers and I was assured Manchester Money Man are different. I was asked to provide them with details about my personal financial and my business finances (personal cost to me, billed by my accountant). I did that pretty much the same day. Then all I received back was just a simple I'll get in touch when we have any news email reply. I waited a week then dropped an email politely asking for an update, no response. Tried again, nothing, so I asked "Do you publish negative reviews on your website?" Now I got a response, not a nice one, in fact quite blunt and I read it as a rude reply, by the way this was after midnight, makes me think what state of mind the person was in. I would say if you haven't got a simple straight forward mortgage requirement then look elsewhere. And DO NOT BELIEVE the reviews are genuine. This company wasted both my time and money, I do not...

It was September/October last year that I arranged my first meeting with Wayne from Manchester Moneyman. As a first time buyer I had a lot of questions and worries, but he took time to explain everything to me and give me all the information I needed to start the process of applying for a mortgage. In January I actually started the process with Manchester Moneyman and Wayne, again, was extremely friendly, professional and supportive. Always very quick to respond to emails and always picked up the phone when I had a last minute panic I needed answers to, even if it was later in the day or about another part of the house buying process, not just the mortgage. Later on in the process I was also in communication with Tom, who was just as friendly, helpful and quick to respond to emails. The whole process with Manchester Moneyman has been an absolute pleasure and I am so glad that I found them online and went ahead with them. It was like contacting a family member for advice, rather than being in touch with a formal, robotic company. Especially for first time buyers I would recommend this company no end, they have really made what could have been an extremely stressful and confusing process much easier and it went very smoothly.
