If you enjoy disappointment served with a side of attitude, this is the place for you. The food is edible — the chicken comes with more fat and gristle than actual meat, and the “sauce” (if you can even call it that) is the only thing remotely passable. The service, however, is the real low point. The staff seem allergic to basic hospitality, acting like doing their job is a personal favor.

They can’t even stick to their own opening hours. Show up half an hour before closing and you’ll be greeted with the same robotic excuse: “Sorry, kitchen’s closed.” Apparently, “open” means “maybe, if we feel like it.”

They’re open five days a week, which might be a blessing in disguise — fewer opportunities to waste your time and money here. Honestly, I’d rather pay double somewhere else than endure another meal in this place.

Do yourself a favor: walk/divert online right past this restaurant and find literally...

Curry Pork Chop Rice – The curry sauce is rich and flavorful. The pork chop is very crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.

Fried Egg and Scallion Oil Chicken Chop Rice – The scallion oil and soy sauce are wonderfully fragrant, with just the right balance of salty and sweet. The chicken chop is well-marinated and tasty without being overpowering.

Egg Waffles (Gai Daan Jai) – Crispy on the outside and soft inside. Even after sitting for a while and cooling down, they still stay crispy.

Hong Kong–Style Lemon Tea – It has that authentic Hong Kong café (cha chaan teng) taste.

Extra notes: If you plan to go, remember to book a table—there aren’t many seats, but the staff are very nice. There’s free parking available in the open area...

If you’re going to Manchester, you have to visit Popchop Curry House!

They open at 5pm, but we only managed to get the last two plates of pork chop rice when we arrived at 7pm – everything sells out if you’re late, so intense! They mentioned you can call ahead to place an order if needed.

The pork chops are pan-fried to a crispy perfection, and the curry is aromatic with a good spice kick. Tastes amazing! The quality is still as high as ever, with that classic Hong Kong curry flavor.

Since we had kids with us who couldn’t handle the spicy curry, they kindly provided an extra bowl of curry sauce on the side. We also ordered a plate of scallion oil chicken with fried egg rice, and the chicken was just...

a small shop loaded with authentic street food style delicacies. everything is packed with flavour and generously portioned, we got our pork chop curries in large and we were filled to the brim! The specials of the day could not be underestimated too, it was only our first visit and we were blown away by how good the food was! The shop itself is not very big and could only accommodate a dine in for four (understandably as it was intended as a takeout shop) but the interior had simplistic deco and felt neat and clean. Very much worth a visit for anyone who wants to try out Asian street food cuisines and we can’t wait to return again.
