Been to Rossio lots of times when it was called Taste of Portugal excellent 👏🏾👏🏾 I went 24th Jan with a party of 12 Service was a bit slow due to only one person serving We expected Portuguese Cheese part of the starter as usual but realised it was Cheader Cheese so that was disappointing
After a long wait for the main course when it finally arrived portions were very big no complaints just a bit slow to arrive
We ordered a mixture of wines and soft drinks and not everyone had wine A member of the party was told one of the Red wines was expensive but the waiter didn’t say how much but because of the type of restaurant and the location we didn’t expect it to be too expensive so now concerns we ordered
The Bill came to £600 when the Bill was doubled checked at home some of us noticed we were charged £180 for one bottle And another two bottles £80 each This was challenged with no success All the they said was we said fine but we said fine because any restaurant can make a mark up maybe twice the cost price These bottles of wines are not listed on the menu, the dearest wine we saw was £24 or £24.99 Why are these wines not on the menu It seems to us they are charging what they want and making it up or probably thought we wouldn’t notice I don’t know
No disrespect but this is hardly Louis’s in Manchester which we have been to and we would expect an expensive Bill but not in Salford langworthy Road
The Whole experience was disappointing and the owner was no better We still have not had a answer as to why the wines were not on the menu and where did they get the prices from We googled the wines and each bottle cost no more than £15 and saw them In the Portuguese Warehouse in Salford not expensive wines
we have always recommend this Restaurant to our friends but not anymore We will not be returning or making recommendations It’s a shame because the food is lovely Customer Service re our complaint Nil
I’m writing this review to make people aware re the Wines and for some reason not all the wines are not on the menu and no explanation as to why so please be aware
This never ever happened with the previous owners Such a shame to treat customers...
Read moreCaution! Suspiciously high number of 5 star reviews for this place, which I suspect are either fake reviews or individuals attached to the restaurant in some way.
I've been a number of times to eat, including under the previous management, and the overall quality has deteriorated drastically. Fool me twice for giving them 'one more benefit of the doubt' but never again!
First of all, this place needs to decide whether it is a bar or a restaurant. It can barely do one of them mediocre at best, let alone both!
If a restaurant can't be bothered to cook rice properly, i.e. not just microwaved day old rice, then it's time to call it a day!
Ambience is horrendous, the noise from everyone else in this place vibrates everywhere. Fat chance of enjoying your meal and having a quiet chat with your group, because chances are you will only be leaving with a throbbing headache from the incessant noise of the other guests, particularly the frequent visits from their drinks-only patrons. I've been in night clubs that are quieter!
Food is atrocious and overpriced. From microwaved days old rice, over cooked gruel, to the pool of low grade oil the food swims in. Very poor and not worth the price tag. It seems the chefs here have given up and are just going through the motions.
Service is non existent. Each visit, it seems like the waiting staff have only just started the job that instant and are still trying to figure out how things work, what's on the menu etc. They are absolutely clueless and you seem to spend most of your time at the restaurant waiting for them to serve your table. Good luck trying to actually pay you bill and leave the chaos, you will have better luck chasing a rainbow!

Read moreA small cosy looking restaurant with around 20 to 30 covers max. To begin with, we arrived on a very cold evening to a pre-booked table for 8 of us. Friendly waiter, no music so very little by way of atmosphere. Ordered some pre starters of olives, cheese, bread along with some red wine. No attempt was made to make it look appealing or appetising. Cheese had been clearly just removed from the fridge pre sliced and covered with cling film and put on the table. Same with the bread french sticks sliced and placed in a bowl. The room was very cold and we had to request on several occasions to either turn on the heating or else turn the temp up. Despite having a rather small menu, was surprised to discover much of it not available! Plates were literally freezing.had to request waiter to heat the plates before serving food. Various dishes were ordered and served.the seafood dishes were most tasty. Other dishes were fairly basic. The lack of heating and music clearly spoiled the event. Won't be going back. Parking is a...
