The Top Trough — Restaurant in Salford

Used to use this place regularly in the past. Phoned today to place an order & not sure if they were busy or having a bad day but I was left feeling very angry at both the owner & the rude delivery driver. Rather than just give a postcode that would get the driver lost I attempted to explain where the address for delivery was located and was rudely told they couldn’t deliver, she ignored me trying to explain this, talked over me & put the phone down whilst I was talking. I am housebound for the day & am very angry they could be so rude... I won’t be using them again & I hope they read this post so they can review their customer service skills. From one...

Popped in here this afternoon and i just want to say top job! You guys really nailed it. I had the hot beef and onions on a big barm, and i also got the chili and rice for my partner.

Both lunches were fab. The beef and onions was made with a decent bit of beef in proper gravy, and the chili and rice was made with good mince beef in a tasty sauce. The rice was properly done too, nice and fluffy individual grains.

Really nice traditional cafe food, friendly staff, good location. Keep up...

The Top Trough is as good a basic sandwich shop as any I've ever known.

I got a jacket potato with tuna, onion, mayo and just a dash of butter, which came in at £2.60. Now I disagree with places charging for tuna and onion separately but maybe the connection will be made countrywide in the future that that is just the standard. It was good food, what can I say: it's a jacket potato with tuna, onion and mayo.

Overall I will probably return and try other...
