For a Spoons this is alright - it's the only public house left on the high street and as such such it's busy all hours of the day- which at least guarantees an atmosphere. Service is surprisingly friendly and efficient- beer actually seems quite well looked after lines seem cleaned regularly- and they certainly pour enough to keep it moving. Clientele is the usual mix of the aged and retired, the state sponsored professional loafers, single mothers that can't cook and manual labourers that sneak in for their daily Carling's in between shifts at the foundry / pushing 'barrows of tarmac and ripping doors of cars ( possibly me... ). Food is poor but cheap and filling as usual.... in the winter they put a real fire on. You can't beat the quality of food...

I had the salmon bagel and it tasted off and smelt funny and the blonde woman which served me told me it was fine and that they wouldn't do another one. I asked if I could speak to the manger and she said that they were busy so they can't do anything. Really disrespectful she was and I heard others complaining about her in the bar. I think I'll go to the merry hill wetherspoons or black Heath one in future....
