Eastern Nights Restaurant — Restaurant in Sandwell

The food was lovely......that's the only nice thing I can say sadly. The restaurant was busy, we popped in on the off chance of getting a table and were shown a table towards the back of the restaurant. Where we were left for about 5 minutes without menus, which we had to ask for. After waiting another 10 minutes we were offered poppadoms. Then after another 10 minutes we had to ask to order, when other tables who arrived after us had already ordered, even the table next to us. Even when we tried to get the attention of the servers we were ignored. As I was driving I was on soft drinks, and as the restaurant isn't licenced you have to take your own booze, which others in our party did. One of the party went to the bar to order me a coke, that didn't turn up, so we ordered it with the food order. We then had to wait another hour or so for our food to come out. At no point were we told that there would be a long wait or even offered anything for waiting so long, just a quick sorry and that was it.

We were there for just over 2 hours and spent 20 minutes eating dinner. When we finished, instead of waiting for the bill we just got up and paid at the bar, as we just wanted to get out. Other tables were waiting just as long without explanation. Even regulars were flabbergasted by the unorganisation of the place.

They really should make sure they have enough staff on or let customers know that there's going to be a wait, if we'd have known we probably would've gone somewhere else. As it is we won't be going back after the chaos we...

Have been many times and has been lovely, but very disappointed in last visit. Waited over an hour for our main and the place wasn't busy. No apology until the food actually came, no offer to replenish drinks etc. Meal was really nice, but the side dish we'd ordered to share was watery to the point of being inedible. When we asked for it to be taken away and removed from the bill the waiter attempted to reason that this was the traditional serving style. It isn't because we'd had it many times before. It was a battle to have it removed from the bill rather than replaced. Other people had come into the restaurant and we're waiting upwards of 20 minutes before their drink order was taken. In total we spent almost 2 hours in there and aside from the aforementioned "too late" apology we were offered nothing in recompense for shoddy service. Shame but we shan't be...

Been a customer for ages order most weeks but I can say tonight was awful. Ordered our meal at 7pm after waiting 2 and a half hours I rang them may I add this is about the third time I've rang only to be kepted being told 10 minutes. Well after waiting over 3 hours it arrived to be left on the doorstep which I understand with this covid around but would of been nice for the driver to have waited at the end of the path to apologise but nothing. When opening our meal we'll the chips looked like they had only been blanched not even cooked our currys were cold and to make it worse my rice was in big lumps and cold as tho it haven't been cooked really not impressed. Let's just say it all went in bin w wished we had ordered from somewhere else...
