This was an unexpected surprise. Stopped off for lunch with my aunt (who lives nearby). Not only did it have cracking views across the historic Battle of Bannockburn ground but it also had cracking food.
The food was so good, I went back with my bestie a week later. This was a busier time and I've deducted a star simply because we waited a good while before our waiter came back to us. That being said the team were very busy on that return visit. Staff are very friendly and happy to make recommendations if you can decide what to narrow your choice to.

Read moreAfter the Independence march today we wanted to go into the 1314 due to it's relevance to Scottish Independence. Before we arrived we were approached by a couple of marchers. They told us that a beautiful singer was singing in there and was told to stop singing or leave. So we about turned and headed for the King Robert Hotel where we and the singer were welcomed with open arms. I'm Stirling born and I will never grace this establishment again and will be telling my friends and family to do the same. Shame on you....
Read moreThe first view didn't tell us a lot. Rather tearoom then pub. But it is pub indeed. And an enjoyable one. Drinks were correct and the food was a big surprise. We had the burger, the roll could be better but the rest was surprisingly good. Also the steak-and-pie was extraordinary In this review we consider the price as an element. Both dishes were 10 pound each. Later on the pub got full and the atmosphere was great....
