The personnel was sooo professional and lovely despite being under pressure on a Sunday afternoon, they all trully made us feel welcome and well cared for 🥰 The food was fresh, generous portions and well cooked; Heartwarming tomato & roast pepper soup, and the haddock was melting on the fork. Its batter was unsalted which made the fresh fish's taste pop beautifully..and allow whoever eats it to add as much salt as they need/want/can take 👌🏼 The kids' lasagna (which came with chips too) and cheeseburger were delish, made with juicy and fresh ingredients once more. Crispy chips, generous sauce provision, and a very well structured menu for most tastes. The restaurant was fully equipped, clean and smelling amazing, as well as its bathrooms. A tad heavy on the decoration, i momentarily wished we were sitting outside (which is an option by the way) on the sunny day...but perfectly cozy and nice for the usual scottish weather 🌈

The food we had ,at best was basic . Cream of tomato soup, 🍅 no cream, and so sweet. Because I was having soup I went for the lasagne ,very gritty meat and again, so sweet, cheese sauce poured on the top with added cheese .BASIC imo. My partner had a prawn cocktail ,possibly shrimps ,she also had a chicken breast dish with added haggis and black pudding ,when they remembered the haggis and black pudding yup forgotten and had to be promoted that we ordered it .The boss said they would have better just photocopies as they were the same size, and she imagined just as tastless . If you are making food, use good ingredients . Why was the lasagne so sweet??

I ordered a fillet steak but was served what was very clearly roast beef either leftovers from the day before or cooked earlier that day. When I raised this with the staff, they went to speak with the chef and came back with the excuse that the chargrill “wasn’t warm enough” so the steak was pan-fried instead, but insisted it was fillet. I know my steaks and there is no way what I was served was fillet. The texture and flavour were unmistakably roast silverside. Serving that as a premium fillet cut is unacceptable and misleading. Truly disappointing experience and appalling behaviour

Asked to sit on arrival in wait section as table was not ready at 7:45pm. A young girl came over and took drink order, but didnt know what we was asking for..was then seen/ taken to table at 20:05,by said young girl, still with no received drinks and then awaited over 20 mins to receive drinks at approx by now time being 8:30pm....but then No food order taken, an hour later 21:30pm were still sat at table had finished drinks and still no one had taken our food order with several staff walking on by. A member of of my party went to find out why no one came to take our food order..s Staff member seen replied; didnt know we was there and then asked where we were sitting...following this around another 10 mins wait 21:40pm..a waitress came and took our order. How-ever, food still was not incoming.... and had a wait to receive just our starters...then after starters had...which had seemingly been stood under heat for a while, we awaited yet again another vast time, even after having gone to chase up again our mains with staff members, this time to be told by staff that there had been a shift change.... Though we were served by exactly the same waitress the whole period of time sat in restaurant. Once received mains again these had been sat under heat too long...and items were also missed off our plates. So we decided we would skip dessert as by now time was approx 10:30pm...and then duty manager came over to ask how meal was..too which we responded, With all just stated above. Still ended up having to pay for all food even though starters where at tepid temperature, left under heat lamps so were yellowed, and dry, and our mains were missing items to what was described on menu. The attitude of staff members and management was shocking....i have been to this establishment on several accassions as is local to us...and never ever have i had to wait over an hour and a half to have a meal, and more time to beable to eat it. Im so so disappointed. Actually disappointed is an understatement. I feel i should have not had to pay attall for the meal..and would have agreed to have settled drinks bill, even though was a wait for these. Staffs attitudes were terrible with workers clearly not communicating and only one waitress was actually smiling and was polite towards us all..no one seemingly was in charge ....no apologies were made by individual...

After a very long wait the new lounge in the Royal Hotel in Cumnock is finally open. Let's start with the good stuff, the bar/ restaurant is new so it's clean and all the fittings are in good condition. While the decor is not to my taste ( more cocktail bar than pub) it may well suit the younger clientele. It's big and airy inside and many will find it a welcome addition to Cumnock nightlife. They have menus on the table and you can get coffee made on site. Breakfast is available from 9:00 am. There were plenty of staff on duty and service was quick if you could actually reach the bar. Now the not so good stuff, they still don't have any real ales bottled or draught although the do manage to have 9 or 10 different lagers on draught or in the chill; come on! They do have 4 draught beers/ stouts. The toilets are way too small for a bar of that size, poor planning! The music that was playing was too loud and inappropriate ( dance music) The bar staff kept opening the blinds so we were blinded by the headlights of the cars driving by ,( despite asking on 3 occasions to close them) It was "opening night" and it will be interesting to see how the...
