This is a small and cosy pub bar attached to hotel in a beautiful location overlooking the water. 4 of us popped in towards the end of the lunch opening (food services ends at 2:30pm). There are lots of beers available on tap. One of our party ordered lemonade lime but it was not available and was offered Sprite instead. The menu was quite varied. 3 of us ordered soup (Potato and Leek) and one ordered starter mussels. The food was served quickly. The soup was accompanied by a small artisan bread roll. The Mussels were served in a large pot and were soaked in a garlic butter sauce. Unfortunately the soup was quite possibly the worst any of us had ever tasted. There simply was no flavour at all, in fact not one of us could taste leek or any seasonings. It was in effect a bowl of mushy mashed potato. All 3 of us left it after a couple of spoon tastings. The mussels were absolutely delicious. Now I know mistakes happen, however I am always happy to judge by how a mistake is rectified. When the barman came to remove the soups I advised him how we felt about the soup. He said he had already been told it was not good by another customer and that he would advise “chef”. (So why was it continued to be offered?) On return he told us chef was “not happy” and he had taken 10% off our bill to compensate. Our total was approximately £50 and we had £5 taken off for 3 soups at £18 cost which none of us could eat. We should have had the full £18 taken off for inedible food or offered an alternative. It’s a shame that the food really let down our visit to this otherwise beautiful location...

If you find yourself on the picturesque Isle of Skye, make sure to visit Bar Am Praban. My recent dining experience here was nothing short of exceptional. The highlight of our meal was the fish and chips, which was undoubtedly one of the best I've ever had. The fish was incredibly fresh, with a light, crispy batter that complemented the tender, flavorful fish inside. Every bite was a delight, reflecting the high quality and freshness of the ingredients.

To top off an already wonderful meal, we indulged in the dessert of the day, which was simply heavenly. The dessert was a perfect end to our dining experience, balancing sweetness and texture beautifully.

The ambiance of Bar Am Praban also deserves a mention. It’s warm and welcoming, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal. The staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the overall positive experience.

I strongly recommend Bar Am Praban to anyone visiting the Isle of Skye. Whether you're a local or a tourist, this place is a must-visit for an...

Absolutely disgusting treatment by the staff, accompanied by overpriced, overcooked and quite frankly disappointing food, especially the lamb shank. The self-service element is not advertised, after walking up and down from our uncomfortable park bench seating to the entrance to place drinks orders, collect drinks, order food then collect that all too, on hot plates. The staff were extremely rude, unprofessional and unhelpful, even swearing at one member of my party for politely asking to order separately (between the couples), which is widely accepted elsewhere. Avoid this restaurant/hotel at all costs. Plenty of other lovely places...

We happened upon Bar Am Prabam our first of three nights on the sleat peninsula on the Isle of Skye. We were a bit tired from our trip and we didn’t want anything too fancy and Bar Am Prabam fit the bill. We were warmly greeted, the selection of single malt scotch was outstanding (great beers too) and the food was great. The local mussels, langoustines, and the seafood chowder were standouts, as was the chicken and the many appetizers we had! We returned again our last night and enjoyed another fine meal and fun evening. The music s great too. All the wait staff was great, but a special shout out to Savanah, Josh, and Colin is in order.

This is a lovely, rustic hotel and restaurant right on the edge of the Isle of Skye with stunning views. The bar man was very helpful and welcoming and found us a table and served us straight away. I had the soup of the day, which was delicious but a little runny for my taste. It was a stormy day outside, so I was rather disappointed that they didn't have the open fireplace burning as I was cold and wet. The food was very nice but quite pricey. Ideal for an occasional treat but not something we could afford to do regularly. Overall, this place is nice but I wouldn't visit again

Terrific place to bring your four-legged companion after an excursion on Sleat peninsula. Hang out by the cozy fireside with a pint while waiting for dinner service, which is arguably one of the next pub meals I’ve ever had: venison burger, fish and chips, sticky toffee pudding. Sorry didn’t get any pics of the food as we were ravenous. You are guaranteed to make friends with the locals here and will receive best advice on where to find the dino prints. Highly recommend this stop on your journey through Skye.
