I cannot imagine a nicer place to stay. The Cabin is truly that good. The first time I went was nine years ago, myself and my wife have now been three times and are already planning our next trip next year.
Not only is the setting magical, but immense care and thought has gone into making the accommodation as comfortable and luxurious as possible.
There is lots of information in the bookshelves about wonderful places on Skye to walk, cycle or drive - but it is such a gorgeous, welcoming place to stay you would probably be just as happy lounging around in the wonderful building and taking in the views. On which note - they really do have the wow factor and The Cabin has been designed to make the most of them in a spectacular way.
In fact, no detail seems to have been missed in making sure guests will have a wonderful time - I've never stayed in any self-catering holiday where the kitchen is as well stocked for example. And if you don't fancy cooking, you've got the Hotel Eileen Iarmian - with a restaurant and more casual bar - just a few minutes walk away.
It's a long way for us - we live on the South Coast - but it's always well worth the trip. Indeed, the visitors book reveals guests have come from all over the world. The Cabin is one of a kind, and makes for a...
Read moreMy husband and I have been coming to The Cabin since 2013. It started as a treat for a special birthday and soon became the once and sometimes twice yearly treat. We love Skye and come to walk and take in the breathtaking scenery the island has to offer. The Cabin is such a unique spot, set down from the road in it's little private location. The proximity to shore line means you can sit and watch the abundance of wildlife that visits from the sofa. Over the years we have seen otters, numerous bird life, seals, and deer but every visit without fail is the pine martin that visits the deck right outside the windows most evenings. Its a great location at the south of the island, lots of places to eat and explore locally and you can explore further up the island for longer days out. The Cabin is beautifully designed, comfortable and luxurious. Whatever the weather Skye throws at you, sunshine or horizontal rain you can sit and watch the world go by from this amazing spot! Its like taking in a deep breath of relaxing air the minute you step through the door and look...
Read moreA truly beautiful house in an amazing spot. Uninterrupted views across the Sound of Sleat to the mountains on the mainland. Everything is so thoughtful - beautiful soft furnishings, art work and the otter sculpture! Kitchen kitted out with lovely crockery and all high end top quality. We had a couple of nocturnal visits from the pine martin who happily scoffed some grapes and pieces of nectarine. A rare and beautiful animal. The location is ideal as you are not far from the bridge and very near Broadford which has a great Co-op supermarket and in my view much better than the one at Kyle. There is no shortage of great places to eat and we visited the cafe and bookshop at Struan that featured on the TV show with Banjo Beale. We ate there as well as Kinloch Lodge and the Duisdale Hotel both very nearby and all was of a very high standard indeed. The Cabin was so comfortable and the views so good that we preferred to eat in and enjoy the views most of the time. I would...
