Basil Harbour Café — Restaurant in Scotland

Looking for a place to have lunch over the long weekend and found this place. I have seen no-dog policies and strict dog policies at restaurants before, but never one that advocated leaving my dog in the car! Over and above this, this restaurant issues their unnecessary policy with an overwhelming tone of condescension. It seems they would have dog owners taxidermy their pets before bringing them in! Surely having a no-dog policy is better than advocating for animal cruelty? I would NOT recommend this place. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the best cafe in Nairn and if in a debating mood, Scotland. Okay, at least the IV postcode for sure. We had a phenomenal Cullen Skint and a chicken and pesto sandwich served which what I would have said was “a little out there for me” mangetout coleslaw. I cant review directly as we weren't able to secure a seat, however we are reviewing based on the attitude of the staff.

We asked if there was a seat available and we were met with "no tables free" we weren't offered to wait.

15 minutes later we went back, and there were empty tables inside but now people sat outside who'd just reserved a table inside!

Why they didn't offer us this same service i have no idea. Perhaps as we weren't local?
