Current rating: Food is usual as described below, pricing is reasonable for what you get (though reccomend limiting your drinks or it can hike the bill up fast).
Usually highly rate this place but the staff that served this time made most of our table feel unwelcome. Being they started the service by being rather rude and abrupt about their payment policy of larger tables. I can understand that they want this cleared up upfront but it was a relatively small administrative instruction that was delivered in a way that made us feel like either we should leave or the server should.
The eating was good as usual, we were sat somewhere that was poorly lit and rather tight in terms of arm space between us at the table, where again the service arrived often making us feel awkward and out of place. Picking up plates either as soon as the fork left our hands or not at all seemingly at the staffs leisure.
We had to ask for drinks to be replaced as what was supposedly lemonade was simply a lemon slice floating in tonic water. When the staff finally did leave us to our meal we managed to have an enjoyable evening. Despite the same staff member that had brought their own brand of rude indifference to the job, had decided to take their break across from us with their eyes trying to find new ways to apply themselves between us and our conversations. Even at one point striking their gaze directly at me.
The company was good enough that this wasnt enough to ruin the evening. But after giving it such a good review to many who came with us, was not the only one disappointed by the service. Updated this review to reflect most recent visit.
Previous five star rating: This place is the local go to for a good family night out. Being a local of Glenrothes can seem like it doesn't have a lot of upsides but this feast-provider will change your mind quick about that. Service has always been friendly and fast though I always recommend booking in advance as waiting can be claustrophobic around the door otherwise. Great selection of food always well cooked. Specialities being their honey glaze chicken and the salt'n'pepper chips. It's a take what you want style all you can eat with starters, main and afters all taken into account. Plenty of saucy dishes and sauce itself avaliable for topping your rice or noodles with. Salad and fruit are also available for palette cleansing or even as a side to one of the many varied slices of cake on offer. Chinese beer is available as well as gin, wine or any of the common soft drinks. It's very reasonably priced with a lunch menu aswel as a dinner service. If you do make the trip then keep an eye out for the chocolate fountain, self serve ice cream machine and double cream in a jug. Very much...
Read moreI have only visited this establishment twice but my most recent visit in November 2024 was with a friend who has never been before.
I emailed the company on 22 November 2024 and chased a response on 25 November 2024 but was met with silence.
A table was booked for 6:15pm for a part of 2. When we arrived, the employee on the front desk advised us they needed the table for 7:30pm. In hindsight, we should not have accepted this as we only had 75 minutes to try and enjoy a meal at your restaurant, and unfortunately, we just felt very rushed. This was only accepted as we hadn't eaten and travelled 40 minutes to dine here.
The booking for 7:30pm must have arrived early as a gentlemen (could have been anyone to be honest since he was dressed so casually whilst everyone else had a uniform on) suddenly came over to our table at 7:23pm without even a greeting, stating "guys we need this table in a couple of minutes". My friend was still sitting with a glass of juice in her hand and it was not yet 7:30pm. Yes, 7 minutes might appear to be nothing but when you were giving such little time to eat anyway, this was just unacceptable.
Regardless of the type of dining, it's not the best impression to customers especially when it's their first visit to your establishment. However, as a buffet / banquet type of dining you should never put a time limit like that on customers. We didn't even have time to order any other drinks, never mind enjoy more food if we wanted.
This is basically the email sent to the organisation but no response. Although this was in November, it is still relevant and should...
Read moreHad a really great time here for my sister's birthday. I'm a wheelchair user so we called ahead to make sure the place was suitable, and it was. From the get-go, the staff were lovely and willing to help. Having read some of the reviews on here before booking, I was concerned, but honestly I couldn't fault them. I'm a fussy eater and even I found an abundance of options which were tasty and filling. The staff were lovely, so I can only imagine that the people who found them "abrupt" or "rude" were reading into things considerably. They were rushing around, yes, and when you see the size of the place you'll understand why they're always running around and not stopping to chat. The review about bottomless drinks being pepsi or diet pepsi are misleading to say the least, and the drinks menu is at the table, soft drinks on the back page list pepsi, diet pepsi, irn bru, vimto, tropicana, and lemonade as bottomless drinks, and they're happy to wait for you to decide. The empty glass is because you fill the glass up as many times as you like at their drinks machine with whatever drink you want.
The trash thing was a bit of rubbish as well, the car park is next to a McDonald's, and despite this the car park was clean, there were no cigarette butts anywhere...
All this is to say that none of the issues we saw mentioned materialised while we were there, and we'll be going...
