Only good thing about this place is the children’s play area. Food is extremely below average and tastes like frozen bits from Iceland and extremely expensive for kids size portions! Complained to the waiter multiple times who just shrugged his shoulders and had nothing to say. The kids nuggets were also rock solid and inedible…and the kids meal menu is extremely deceptive - eg everything on the 3 course menu is included in the kids meal except the drink which we were charged extra for. Staff clearly wasn’t at all apologetic and clearly couldn’t care less about whether customers enjoy their meal. Definitely won’t be back. The empty place on a Saturday night speaks for itself.

After Booking a meal deal at the premier Inn next door. (Brewer's fayre Restaurant). I was told that I couldn't add chicken to my burrito bowl. As it would incur a supplement. Which I was told by the manager this isn't listed on the menu but we charge for it here. I found this a little bit odd because I'd stopped in the premier Inn in Glasgow the night before and it didn't incur a supplement. Don't get me wrong but the food was good, the staff were lovely l but when you're paying when £26.99 for a meal deal, you expect a little bit more for your money considering a burrito bowl is only £10.29 and breakfast is £10.99 A pint is £4:45. Who's winning? Not me....

Took my family out for a meal. Staff were great, very friendly. My issue is with price and food. For what we got, I found it overpriced. It was as if I had to look for my food. One small spoon of mashed potato and some vegetables with the pie. My son ordered something with chips. Didn't look anything like it from what the picture showed. The only positive was the children's play area. I've been to a few Brewers Fayres, and I think this has to be the worst for value for money. Won't be back.

Sorry I have to leave such a negative feedback, I could leave less than 1 star I would but here goes: We drove to Glenrothes from Kent to meet up with my brother whom we had not seen for 4 years. We stayed in the Premier Inn next door and decided to book a table for dinner for 7 people in this place, NEVER AGAIN!! On the 22nd June we arrived at this Brewers Fayre at Bankhead Gate, Glenrothes. We were shown our table and left to our own devices. Having never been there before we were not sure of the routine so after half an hour of miserable staff walking back and forth and not asking if we were OK of if they could help we asked one of the staff... She was so rude to us stating or rather snapping she had told us the way of ordering when showing us to our table, which she had NOT! We wrote down our order for drinks, starters and mains and went to the bar to order only to find that one of the starters ordered was not available, we had not been informed that anything was missing from the menu, OK so we chose another meal and waited for our starters, and waited and waited, 45 mins later one of our party asked a member of staff if we were going to be served and she really snapped that the food would be out imminently. I wish it hadn't come out at all as it was not pleasant, over cooked and barely warm! Most of this course was left. We waited a further 30 mins for the table to be cleared and the mains to be served only to find that one of the dishes was wrong so asked for it to be replaced with what had been ordered. Well the waitress wasn't pleased you could tell but she went off and re-ordered the dish. Sadly 6 of our party had finished our mains by the time the last dish had been served and the diner had to eat her meal alone. Now 1 person ordered the Chicken/Ribs meal and could not get a knife or fork into the ribs because they were absolutely cremated beyond belief, the waitress was told and she said 'Didn't they give you a steak knife?' sadly a hammer chisel wouldn't have got through it. My brother had ordered the 8oz steak and it was so tough he could not chew it. You could have soled your shoes with it. Another had the fish and chips and the fish could have swam away with the amount of oil on the plate - absolutely disgusting! We did mention all these to the waitress and and all she said was 'Sorry' To be absolutely honest it was touch and go as to whether or not to pay for these meals but we did and was so pleased to leave the establishment. NEVER again would I nor any of my party that night re-visit this branch of Brewers Fayre and would strongly suggest the staff who had been on duty that evening be re-trained in how to interact with the public AND the Chef/Cook take further lessons on how to prepare and cook food!! I shall also be taking this complaint to Brewers Fayre Head Office, that's how bad the service...

Booked online for a specific time on Friday 7th April. When we arrived we were greeted by a very rude member of staff eye rolling and barking at our group that the kitchen will be shutting soon so need to be quick to order food (this wasn’t specified online). As we’d booked for a group of 6, we thought we’d be shown to a table. Instead she waved her hand behind her dismissively and said “find somewhere to sit over there”. All of our group found her attitude to be rude and didn’t care that we’d booked in advance when she was told. She seemed miserable and unfriendly.

The food was ordered and was brought in a timely manner, however one meal had to be taken back as we’d specified that there wasn’t to be mustard with one of the meals and it was brought out with mustard. The person who’s meal this was has a neurological condition and wouldn’t have eaten it had it been left. The staff took it back and soon brought out another with no hassle which was good, but maybe the kitchen staff should have read the request instead of rushing the food out. Had this been an allergy it could have had serious consequences.

The meals themselves were delicious- no complaints there and the lady who brought them over was really friendly and happy and approachable, unlike the one who had greeted us when we came in.

The coffee machine was in the process of a wash cycle when a member of our group went to get their drink and this took a while before they were able to have their drink.

When two members of our group went to order from the bar, the lady who greeted us was being rude to another customer who laughed it off- but this is very unprofessional. Whatever her mood, this should not be taken out on customers and reflects badly on the business. We didn’t catch her name but she was wearing a cream dress with black stripes.

I’d have given less stars for the attitude of the lady who greeted us, however felt this would be unfair considering the food was excellent and reasonably priced and the place itself was clean, comfortable and pleasant. Other staff members were also friendly and...

We went with friends for dinner last night. And we won't be back. First of all, the girl who served behind the bar did not put half our order through. We were one drink short, and we only got one starter. The rest never came. When asked when the rest of the starters were coming, the girl was very rude and was shouting across the bar to our table. Another girl came over and talked to us and explained that the starters had not been ordered when they had. The starter I had mushrooms was hard and a bit well done, but not wanting to make another fuss, I ate them. The mains arrived mine was fine, but if I had been presented with my friends dinner I would have complained there and then. The food looked like it had been kept warm, and the chips were disgusting. When we finished our food, our friends went to order desert to be told there were none available as the kitchen closed at nine pm. The barmaid again was very rude and said she told my friend that the kitchen closed at nine pm. When my friends said we had not been told, the barmaid said she had and again was arguing, shouting across the bar to the table so we could hear. My family has been a few times for a meal and that is why we chose to come for a meal. But we were very disappointed and I ended up apologising to my friends for the way we were disrespected. I will be putting a complaint to...
