This was walking distance from our air bnb  (Brownhill house which was perfect and highly recommended) but you do need a tourch for walking back. Total darkness and great for seeing the milky way. First night we had Burgers with extra bacon and blue cheese. They forgot the bacon but this was quickly rectified and an immediate offer for our 2 drinks to be on the house was given which was very good of them. Good burgers they are well done but nice flavours. We had Sticky toffee pudding for dessert very light.. not the best I've had but did the job. The next evening we tried the starter of Potted pork with crackling and apple compote. Plenty of meat and bread and good. For mains Ox cheek with mash. We asked if it came with veg to which we were advised not.. so ordered sides of green veg and cauliflower cheese. When the plate arrived it did have tenderstem brocoli so it was a bit of a waste of money ordering the veg side at £5 a pop and not needed.  Great cauliflower cheese though. The ox cheek was great tender full of flavour and plenty of delicious sauce to go with it. Finished with a whisky Edradour which was rather good. Nice atmosphere and good food.

Preis/Leistung knapp okay.

Shame they weren’t serving lunch but service very nice, helpful bar lady. Dogs made welcome unlike many other places. Lovely interior, proper pub. Weren’t made to feel like an inconvenience, no staffing issues, very hospitable - Something hard to find on the NC500.

We were a large group of quite drunk boys - the staff could not have been more accommodating. Thank you very much for having us! Beautiful restaurant.

However, the food unfortunately left a lot to be desired. For what it is, it is probably doubly overpriced. £42 for a medium rare steak which still had unrendered fat on it was pretty offensive, but for it to be served with two lettuce leaves with balsamic glaze on (haven’t we moved on from this?) is criminal. For the experience they are selling visually with the hotel, I’m afraid they need to step their game up.

The oysters on sale were pretty unpalatable - no idea where they were sourced from but they were sludgy and grainy.

Good starters and sticky toffee pudding but again, overpriced.

I would come back to stay in the area, but I’m afraid I wouldn’t eat here again.

Waiting staff - you were gracious and very...

I was really looking forward to popping in to The Torridon and so decided to try out a spot of lunch at Bo & Muc in the grounds of the estate as I'm planning an NC500 trip next year. It was hugely disappointing. It started badly with an abruptly barked "Have you booked?" The restaurant was not busy so hardly a welcome worthy of the reputation. The crab starter had hardly any flavour of crab and the burger had been crucified. Whilst the meat is clearly great quality, it had not been shown the respect it deserved. It was dry and felt like it had been reheated. Either way it was extremely overcooked. I told the waiter but he seemed uninterested. I am genuinely disappointed as, having seen the main hotel on the TV, I loved the ethos of this place. Maybe it was an off day in the kitchen or maybe all the focus is on the main hotel and restaurant. Either way, I won't...
