Never normally sit in and dine at BK but honestly. In the span of a year. The place has gone downhill. No matter the cosmetic change with branding etc.
Last year popped in with a family member for a quick meal. Everything was fine. Service etc.
However this time in 2023. Complete opposite. Staff rude and unhelpful. Staff member never gave out bottles of water (that I ordered) or cups for drinks until I had to get her attention (took several attempts). Very rude speaking back and didn't seem like she wanted to be there.
Totally understand given I work in a fast food establishment aswell. Just isn't nice seeing it from a customer point of view.
Drinks fountain was not cleaned. Ice and syrup everywhere. No napkins or straws. Very dirty prep area between counter and Drinks machine.
Can imagine the stress of working with various 3rd party services for deliveries but prioritising deliveries over sit-in customers was a joke.
Got given the wrong order (for 4 people) asking for an exchange was like spitting in their faces. Not helpful or putting customer service standards at the upfront. Staff uniforms must of been in the wash as it seemed Staff worm whatever clothes they fancied. Didn't feel all that safe. Such a shame as I've been coming to this establishment for years. Not all that great now. Won't...
Read moreHit or a miss when you go in for food quality and waiting times even thought it's consistently busy. If you're a student you need to download the Burger King app to get that day's deal as they don't offer 15% off your order like the chains because it's a franchise.
Last time I was in, I was told they don't take student cards, you have to use the UniDays app. Used my UniDays app last week (March 2020) and was told they don't accept them and to use the BK app (from the manager). The person on the till said to the manager there was a UniDays discount for a kids whopper and fries for £1.99 but he ignored her. I'd already ordered a kids whopper meal and asked to use the discount instead which totally confused the lass on the till. Tried to explain that I'd take the student deal instead of the full meal and she said "so you don't want your XL double cheese?" over and over again until I said to just forget about it and I'd pay in full for 2 meals.
They don't have Irn Bru on tap, just Coca Cola options, but at least you get a wide variety of Fanta and Coke flavours.
I'll drive to the other end of the Kingsway to get a McDonalds for the student discounts of free burger/fries/McFlurry, and hit the Wellgate Burger King in town because they do...
Read moreFood was lovely however the customer service was a joke! We went trough drive trough to order and the girl on headset was so bloody impatient. We asked for a couple moments to decide what we wanted, after that her tone changed and she was quite snidey. She then directed us to go to the next window which in that drive trough would be the first one there. We sat there for 5 minutes and no one came over, a man on second window proceeded to bang on the glass aggressively and giving us dirty looks to indicate that we have to move forward. In this case the girl told us to go to that window so if there was miscommunication between the staff it shouldn’t be put out on customers. The guy at window was very rude and blunt trying to get us gone as fast as possible. Overall I’m very disappointed. I used to work in a fast food place myself, and I know it’s hard if you’re low on staff or have targets to reach but because it has been a long day or a rough shift there is no need to be this rude to customers. As staff they should communicate more as well as maybe put a bit of smile on their face. No customer service at all really makes me wonder how they even got the job since that’s the main thing these places look for when hiring. Anyways won’t be...
