Butterburn Bar — Restaurant in Scotland

We visited the Butter urn on Sunday evening for the first time, but we'll definitely be back. Lovely traditional pub atmosphere, but so much cleaner! All original seats and tables have been refurbished. Social distancing is kept to stringently, yet the bar retains the busy feeling of a popular local bar. There is a small lounge which is so attractive and might suit a larger group. I must comment on the toilets, which rated 5 flushes, a personal award of mine. Most toilets only get 4, or even less. We popped in tonight in on a whim as we saw there was a pub quiz on . What a beautiful bar and honestly was blown away by how nice all the staff ( belle Davie and Neil ) were. They spoke to us like we'd been life long regulars. The bar and lounge area where clean , beautifully decorated and comfortable, toilets where also super clean. Decent pint and decent prices too. And the quiz was a great wee laugh. ( we didn't win lol ) although were 20 mins down the road we will definitely be back...

No doubt in my mind it’s the friendliest bar in Hamilton! The owners are the nicest people ever and the bar staff are so welcoming. It’s such a pleasure to go to a bar where you are made to feel at home and part of the atmosphere. The entertainment on Sundays are the best in Scotland and the place is jumping, you might end up dancing with complete strangers - but that’s ok!!!
