Carlyle House Café — Restaurant in Scotland

Went there with my 3 year old son. He had a roll from the bakery as this is the only thing he genuinely likes to eat. The owner of this cafe was very rude to us, he approached us and said that my son is not allowed to have his roll in the cafe. They have food there. I found this utterly rude considering that he is just a toddler and it is normal to offer small children some packed food when in restaurants or cafes. We are not coming back to this...

Exceptional! The staff, the atmosphere .. the food.. oh, the food! In particular, the cauliflower fritters. Oh, the fritters.

My son was also with me, and their kids' platter is amazing, a good selection of sandwich options with fruit and cucumber slices and a cake and drink for under £6! He absolutely loved it.

Sadly, can't comment on the food as it was a narrow choice (although I am on a special diet at the moment) so we only had coffee. My wife couldn't drink her Americano which was bitter and bland. This might have been due to them not having full-fat milk but my cappuccino was average at best and mostly foam.
