Been a customer of the Delhi for over 20 years but won’t be back. Attitude was terrible tonight after a mistake they made! . I collected a chicken tikka main meal and when I got home discovered the chicken had bones on it, maybe a chatt or something else but not the normal chicken breast chunks. Phoned to complain to them and they asked me to drive all the way back with the chicken (roughly 50 min round trip) which I said I wasn’t prepared to do. Asked them to deliver a fresh meal but they were too busy. Told me to bring the bones back the next time! I said I only go once a month and that would be ridiculous. I said if they don’t believe me I can take a picture of the chicken but they said no they want me to bring the bones next time in order for them to replace the meal. Asked to speak to a manager as could clearly hear the conversation being relayed in the background and the manager (not sure if it was) repeated everything and I got nowhere, no apology at all for the main meal being ruined, even after I said I had an issue with a portion of pakora being missing a while ago which I never bothered to phone them about. Mistakes happen, all they had to do was apologise and either deliver a new main meal or offer to add a credit for my next visit. To ask me to keep the chicken bones and bring it back in a month or so is pathetic and not a restaurant myself or my family will give money to in the future if that is how they treat loyal customers. Really disappointed in their attitude, get orders wrong, no apology and treat you...
Read moreWorst customer service me and my family have ever experienced.
Tonight they got our takeaway order wrong and refused to deliver us the correct meal or even offer us credit towards our next order. Me and my family have been customers of the Delhi for over 20 years and I can honestly say we will never be back after the way we were treated tonight.
When we phoned to explain that we had the incorrect order there was absolutely no apology and they said they were too busy to deliver the correct meal. They stated that we would need to bring the bones of the meal back to them (even though we explained we only visit roughly once a month so would need to keep the bones for a month) to prove that we were given the incorrect order - we said we could send pictures but they said no we have to bring the bones back! There have been missing items a couple of times from our takeaway orders and we have never bothered to contact or go back as it’s a 25 minute drive from us but tonight we had enough.
Truly embarrassing on their part, terrible attitude from both women on the phone and we will...
Read moreWe've been going to the Delhi as a family for the past 6 years - usually a table for 10 or more when the extended family visit. It was my young brother and his wife who put us onto it as they had discovered it 2 years before. He knows the one of the guys in there.
I've never had a poor service, there's a fantastic atmosphere, lights not too bright.
The service we recieve has always been how I'd expect to be served. The waiting times can sometimes be lengthy - especially at the take away area but what do you expect from a local place so popular.
My first impression was one of quality because when we entered it was waiting room only - and this was a Monday early evening.
On one visit I opted for the steak because that's what I felt like at the time and I was not disappointed, as I know my steaks. We found the value for money, service and overall experience worth it each time and always left happy - with our doggy bags for left overs, which they will happily place in airtight tubs for you to take away.
Thank you, Delhi Darbar - we'll see you...
