Dolphin Fish & Chips — Restaurant in Scotland

Went out of our way to this chippy since it had good reviews and says it's on some takeaway awards so thought it must be amazing.

Fish was a wee thin piece, tasted ok nothing special. Scampi was frozen, tasted just like any old scampi out of a supermarket. Found a nice black hair in amongst the food, I don't have black hair so wasn't from me.

Burger was dry as anything, cheese had been chucked on hanging half.out the roll into the box.

Asked for salt and vinegar on the food but it didn't taste like there was.

Never come across this before in a chippy but you have to pay for sauces, even tomato and brown? the brown was just squirted out into a wee tub in front of us, it was just a cheap bottle of brown you can buy out Tesco not even chippy brown sauce, it was horrible.

We were on holiday in the area at the weekend and were looking for a good fish and chips. After trawling google, we settled on Dolphin and we were very happy with our choice. The food was exceptional. Undecided between scampi and fish, we noticed that they offered a Duo Supper (scampi and fish), so this made our decision very easy. The fish was beautiful, lovely batter, the scampi was exceptional good crisp breadcrumb and tasty and the chips were very good. No greasy and just the right amount. We also ordered a large single fish, and the portion size was fantastic, one large piece of fish and smaller piece. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dolphin Fish and Chips to anyone...

Oh How The Mighty Have Fallen!

Just had 2 fish suppers from the Dolphin Fish and Chips, following excellent ones in previous years.

To say the fish was poor would be an understatement, it was so thin that the fish was overcooked and dry, between the two fish I doubt we got the equivalent of one which was edible.

Many of the chips were from potatoes which had blackened ends, definitely not appetising.

I know the current climate of rising energy prices and increasing suppliers costs make it difficult for businesses but if this is the new (low) standard for the Dolphin we will find somewhere else.
