Had a very poor experience here yesterday. Booked a table for 9 people. All sat down, took 15 mins for the drinks order to be taken. Another 10 mins for them to arrive!! Then 10 mins later the food order was taken, (note the time is ticking) 20-25 mins the starter arrived, after what all finished it took them nearly 10 mins to remove the dirty plates. 20 mins later the main course slowly appeared. I should point out it wasn't busy at all... Well finished and the wait began. And still waiting, still waiting until one of us actually went over to ask about pudding. Then was told, we had been there nearly 2 hours and that we couldn't have any puddings, as you only get a 2 slot for a reservation. But it wasn't our fault that it took nearly 2 hours for a 2 course meal. Then complained about the steak being as tough and the the vegan dish was BLAND, didn't get any refund nor even an apology but instead was told, "Well that is what vegan food is like"!!! Which I said that that's a load of rubbish, and that I make and eat vegan food all the time which has plenty more taste than what they'd just served me. If you're a restaurant, you should take pride in having an impressively tasty menu for all diets (you'd hope more impressive than our home cooked meals!). And as for the price, it well over priced for what you actually get. Overall, very poor experience because of expensive bland food and incredibly slow service with...

Style over substance. But let's start with the positives - the staff are very friendly and the view is spectacular. That is if you can get one of the few seats that you can actually look out of the window! Who designed this place? They have a variety of seating to give a cool vibe but actually just takes up valuable floor space and some of it is impractical or uncomfortable for eating food at. The result is you wait long periods just to get a space to eat at. The lack of staff seating customers results in lots of singles and couples taking the 4 berth tables and others just sitting chatting long after finishing their coffee or meal. The food itself is fresh but pretty average in terms of flavour. Don't let the fancy descriptions full you, that is just their to justify the premium price tag. Portions are on the small side so if you have a big appetite like myself you will leave still slightly hungry unless you fork over another large sum of cash for cakes which look significantly better than they taste. All in all I would give this place a miss. There are places such as the Dowry and Da String on the main street which match their stylish appearnce and price with great food....

The restaurant came highly recommended from my Lerwick host. Maybe because I was a single and not likely to provide adequate remuneration I feel I received subpar service. I had just been seated and was approached by an impatient server to get a drink order. I hadn’t even had a chance to look at the drinks menu, and when I asked about options I got a snarky response. Drink order taken I started to look over the menu, and before I could even think about it he was back with the drink impatient to get my food order. I asked about a soup, he condescendingly replied, and when I said I still needed a moment he rolled his eyes. I had been there less than 3 minutes. Lerwick has few good food options, but I would rather go next door and get a Tesco takeaway than put up with this nonsense. I didn’t even finish my beer. Shambles. Maybe the food is too good for...

I and my partner arrived without a reservation. I didn’t feel warm welcome from the senior staff. The view and atmosphere of the cafe is marvelous. It has a big parking lot if you have a car. We ordered two cups of matcha tea. At first, the younger staff served us two glasses of matcha apple, which we didn’t not order, and she is kind enough to give me a correct one later, which I will not recommend because it doesn’t have smell or taste of matcha just milk. I also ordered a cheese scone with jam and butter, which I recommend. It is crunchy outside and soft inside. My partner ordered five scoops of ice creams, which I will not recommend. In sum, if I can choose again I will order coffee as others said it is good. We came for afternoon tea so we ordered only desserts. It is good for take a dit and enjoy the view.

Despite its name suggestive of Norwegian influence , it’s a very standard uk cafe. The cakes are large produced traybake. We went Friday 10 am for a coffee. I would say it’s for locals and we felt very unwelcome. We were told “should have booked, it’s Friday morning”. There were several empty tables that remained empty when we were there. Grudgingly we were offered seats a big table which was fine. The other 6 seats were and stayed empty. The coffee was scalding hot. I had a pancake with jam and butter. Pancake tasted like shop bought. The jam was English and the butter Irish. As far from Shetland produce as possible. The view is spectacular. In summary I’d travel a way to avoid this place.
