Green Pastures Café — Restaurant in Scotland

We used to enjoy coming here for afternoon tea and tray bakes each week. I phoned them up just before setting out to drive the 4 miles out there to see if they served tea and scones still, and was assured that they did. We drove immediately there but was greeted at the door and informed that the cafe was now closed as they didn't have enough staff on duty. We could see people sitting at the tables enjoying their teas and coffees, so how they couldn't make a pot of tea for us is baffling. I had the vegan falafel and hummus wrap with a cup of yellow pea lentil soup. My friend had the chicken sweetcorn mayo. Everything was fresh and delicious. I wish they made fresh cooked chips. Otherwise the cafe is beautiful very spacious and clean and the staff are very friendly great parking. We also had two lattes and two mini fruit bowls for our kids. Total cost £23.90. Went here today to meet with a friend. Glad we got here early as it soon got very busy and people were queuing up for a table! Good choice on the menu such as various sandwiches on different types of bread, or breakfast items served until 11 30am. Scones and also soup of the day seemed popular. Really enjoyed the food, really bright modern place with lovely views and staff very friendly. I felt the quality and price of food was excellent. Will return here...
