LANGOUSTINES AT CRAZY PRICES! ATMOSPHERE... BREWERY STYLE

The website says ‘New look, same atmosphere’... Unfortunately, we have to disagree...

Over the years, we have dined at The Anchorage many times, and we remember it fondly precisely because of its atmosphere :-) As well as for its delicious langoustines, at reasonable prices...

Change is always positive. And the new dĂ©cor certainly reflects the name ‘Brewery’. However, we preferred the previous ‘romantic’ and coastal atmosphere... as well as the fact that the restaurant was much less noisy (could it be the materials?).

This time, we also had to give up the langoustines because the prices have become too high! And when we treat ourselves to them every now and then, we certainly don't settle for an “appetizer”...

We had to choose Seafood Chowder and Fish & Chips. Good. Too bad about the chips, which weren't...

We visited having seen nice comments in the visitors book in our air bnb. We stopped in for a coffee and cake (which were excellent) and decided to go back later for fish and chips after seeing the food going out to other tables.

Given we live in a seaside town in the south of the UK and have great fish and chips at home, it can be risky having fish and chips elsewhere, but we were very impressed. My partner rated it as her #1 fish and chips EVER! My daughter enjoyed her burger. We went back a few days later and all had fish and chips! Good job we did a lot of walking on Harris. Diets start when we get back to Dorset!

We are always on the look-out for a dog friendly place to eat and our Dalmatian was a big fan after being given a treats on...

We had the absolute pleasure of returning to the beautiful Isle of Harris last week and after visiting Nick last year in Borrisdale felt a visit to his new venture in Leverburgh was definitely on the itinerary. It did not disappoint, the atmosphere was great with a very warm welcome from all of the team. My brother was anxious to work his way through the beer menu so we managed to drink and dine on three occasions over the week. The food was delicious and plentiful (the haddock was large!). The beer is legendary (Mark recommends the chocolate stout)

Wishing Nick, Anna and the team every further success -...

Beautiful and handy location. The opening hours are also great for the area. The views out the window were fab and the interior was nicely decorated. There was a nice ambiance and the staff were friendly. We visited for coffee as opposed to food or drinks. I have deducted one star for the following reasons. I had a hot chocolate which was quite weak, it didn’t have much flavour to it. My mum had a latte and she thought it was tepid at best. My other half had a tea and he was very happy with it and thought the blend was excellent and he even bought a pack from the shop.

Situated at the pier head in Leverburgh, Isle of Harris Brewery is a great find. There is a little shop selling gifts and sweet treats, and a restaurant serving meals. We took away a giant cookie (best cookie I've ever had!) and a millionaire's shortbread. The shop also sells gifts and bottled beers, etc. We returned the following day to try out the restaurant and so glad we did. The food was insanely good. We had the beef burger and haddock and chips. Haddock was skinless and landed at Stornoway. Highly recommend this place!

The best fish and chips! This is a lovely place, with real atmosphere, great beers and delicious food. The owners really made sure that the quality of the beer and food is outstanding. If you in, have a fish and chips, chips are really tasty, fluffy on the inside, chrispy on the outside. But the fish, wow! Batter is thin and super chrispy, not saturated in oil, fish fresh and delicious, and tartar sauce which is simply amazing.
