Was a beautiful evening so myself and 2 others decided to go to the Kimberley Inn for dinner. We don’t eat much so we decided on 3 starters which were absolutely amazing! We opted for the garlic fantastic (in the photo) and had two portions but it’s massive so we took a portion home. We also had the Brie wedges.. wow.. so nice! The atmosphere was nice, lovely to see your allowed to bring dogs in and the outdoor seating looked lovely. We sat inside where it was warm, cosy & had a nice ambience. The staff were lovely, friendly and smiley & helped us with our needs even when we were a bit awkward asking for certain things they did everything with ease. Lovely wee bar/restaurant. Would highly recommend! We will be back xx

The Kimberley Inn was a terrific welcome on a blustery December day. There is a large wood burning fire in the bar, which instantly made a very cosy and relaxing pause in the day. The menu is limited but good. A little pricey for pub food but I thought it was worth it. Cooked to a decent standard and proudly using local ingredients. The interior is contemporary and well spaced for seating on two levels. Not especially kitted out for wheel chairs but this is an old building. A small selection of beers on tap. My personal annoyance was the acceptance of dogs into a pub that serves food. In the short space I was there to eat, 6 large dogs had come in with different owners. If you serve food, keep dogs outside.

Entered the pub/Inn, and ordered scampi and chips and a venison burger with a couple of drinks. I thought I might have a drink later again with the meal, but when the bar tender (young lady) suggested that I leave my credit card behind the bar to enable a tab to be set up, I declined. Also, pointed where I might go and collect the menus to look at and take off to a seat. How much more polite it would have been to have smiled and handed the menus to me. I presume also that they don't take people to the tables. I suppose there is no quicker way of reducing sales, such as desserts or more drink. I would have to get my card out again, oh, another drink, that'll be my card out again, obviously not table service, so each time your jumping up and down, take your card with you! As here thinks that I may run out of the door without paying, I'm certainly not going to entrust them with my credit card, being left behind the bar, something far more likely to be stolen, lost or abused. Unsurprisingly, there was no check back (how is your meal sir). As a matter of interest, it was ok, standard pub fare. It reminded me of scampi in the basket, from many years ago. Maybe there are a lot of people running away having not paid in Findhorn, but I doubt it. Sadly, as I had to pay the full amount first and no table service I wasn't able to put a gratituity on the credit card payment. I think paying for your food before you eat it, is a bad idea,it creates mistrust, chippys and the like excluded. The last place that asked me to leave my card behind the bar was some years ago. I've been to many pubs, restaraunts, tavernas, hotels since and without exception, none have asked me to leave my card with a n other...

Terrible experience - go elsewhere

This nice situated bar/restaurant is completely ruined by the awful management and staff. I have never been so disappointed and embarrassed by how unprofessional, untrained and uneducated the staff are about hotel, bar and restaurant management.

Before we even begin with the service - The tables are left unclean with food on the floor. Not exactly what you want to see.

They do not allow bar tabs and insist you leave your bank card behind the bar. This just causes a bad tension between the staff and customers, slows down service and reduces potential income due to how difficult it can be to go back up and order. No other ‘top’ rated restaurant or bar does this. The staff were no way polite explaining this either.

All the staff have no idea of who have ordered what.. there’s a terrible system in place that confuses everyone. It’s just embarrassing ordering food with a waitress and then she brings out the wrong food and then when your food does come out she’s shouting a table number to someone else.

I had an awful experience with the manageress as well. She does not take criticism and defends her staff when actually the staff look like they’ve never worked a day in their life. Only she will know the exact reason of why we left. She is a disgrace to the very respected owner and family.

I will never be back here in the near future because of her and all my friends in the Forres and Moray area have been told about my experience.

I really do hope in future they change the mangers and staff and have this place back running like it used to...

Excellent small pub with great food. You can sit inside or out front to enjoy the amazing view (although it will probably be a bit chilly unless you are there in mid-summer). I have mostly eaten here rather than drank here but there does seem to be a good selection of drinks. Any beer i have had has been really nice. The food is amazing! There is a decent menu and there are usually specials on a chalk board on the wall beside the bar. There is usually a good selection of fresh seafood on offer. The portion sizes are healthy and the quality is always amazing. Prices are not the cheapest however, it is a small place in a small town making excellent quality food that has bills to pay. If you are more concerned about cost over quality it might not be for you, however if all you want it good food and are willing to part with cash to get it, this is the place to go. Even if all you do is grab a drink and sit outside to watch the sun go down it will be worth every...
