We’ve visited the restaurant three times in the first two months it’s been open. The foot is really lovely - it looks and tastes devine - the portions generous and exceptional value. A simple menu with one “dish of the day” and a number of set mains, starters and a couple “desert specials” too. Simple & Seasonal. Unlicensed so BYOB and no corkage. Book - as there’s only a few tables and Friday/Saturday are always well booked.

First time dining here since these guys have opened, and what lovley delicious food AND very reasonably priced. Staff where very helpful and imformative when it came to the menu ect! :D

Hope Laurencekirk and the surrounding areas support this place as it deserves it.

Only criticism would be the handwritten menu was a bit hard to read and I do confess the chatty interuptions, as nice and as informative as they where intended, could be a bit much while trying to enjoy a meal, both me and my partner have anxiety and can feel very anxious making small talk with strangers so do confess a table check in would have personally gone down better with ourselves, but do appreciate the effort and thought and know this would divide opinion amoungst diners.

Best of luck le Bouchon, we will be...

Up from Essex, Visiting friends locally. Fabulous place. Extending into property next door. Owner/chef is lovely and engages well the diners. Food is basic/simple and tasty. Menu is incredibly limited, 3 starters, 1was sold out so it was narrowed to snails or small slices of sausage/salami. ONLY 1 main course,. On our evening was port in cider, tasty BUT 1) not everyone eats pork (certainly not my meat of choice), 2) no vegs, not even offered as a side dish. Needed mash potatoes and green beans, or something. Desserts again limited to 2/3 choices. All very tasty but need more variety. Currently no drink licence so bring your own wine etc.

Hope to return when fully opened into NextDoor, and hopefully a more...

I don’t write reviews often, but Chez Raphael is truly a hidden gem. Raphael’s deep knowledge of historical French cuisine and how it influences his menu is something special. His explanation of each dish was both relaxing and exciting — a perfect way to begin a remarkable evening.

For our wedding anniversary, we dropped off a bottle of Champagne and a red wine the day before. A lovely touch: both were beautifully presented and ready on arrival. It’s BYOB at the moment, which added a personal and thoughtful touch to the evening.

Incredible value too — just £53 for two, including corkage. Without a doubt, the best dining experience we’ve had in many years. We’ll...
