Visited this place many times before and was always lovely to go with friends for coffee and cake with the dogs. I believe ownership has changed hands and seem all atmosphere has left the building.

New menu is very small. Breakfast stops at 11.30.

We ordered a chicken sandwich which was very basic on cheap bread. My mums cheese and ham toasty was barely toasted and again cheap bread. She ordered tea, was given a massive mug and tiny little teapot that didn't even fill the cup.

Choice of cakes was greatly reduced. There seems to be less tables as well. We went on a Saturday afternoon and there was loads of space where as before it was always busy. I think it's changed to the detriment of the cafe as I'm not particularly keen to go back which is a shame as it's so close...

This could be a great café, I think, but some things need sorted out. The main one is the acoustics. When more than a few people are in it's quite deafening. Some sound dampening would definitely help. This experience is worsened by the clunky doors which make a loud noise whenever someone enters or leaves. It's a shame as the location is nice and it's a nice light filled space in beautiful surroundings. I can't really comment on the food as they were only serving coffee and cake by the time I arrived! The coffee was fine; the cake a bit too sweet. In short, I'm not keen to return unless they sort out...

Four of us visited the cafe on Friday 23 September. We chose an outdoors table & waitress took our order. Our drinks arrived promptly, then the wait began for our food. We noticed that people who arrived after us were served their food so after 30 minutes my husband went inside & brought the matter to the attention of a member of staff who proceeded to go through all the tickets . She then advised us that the order hadn't been passed to the kitchen. She apologised & advised it would be dealt with ASAP. After another 20 minutes of waiting, we decided we weren't prepared to wait any longer. Went back into the cafe to let them know & received a muted apology from waitress but was still charged for our hot drinks. Terrible service,...
