The tea rooms are a godsend for walkers attempting the popular (and very easy) trail across Machrie Moor to see the stone circles and famous standing stones. The walk is clearly signposted from the road, busses stop here, and there is a car park. When you are done, return to the road and turn RIGHT. The Machrie Bay tea rooms are a ten minute walk, and wonderfully large cappuccinos and treats await with great views across the bay. We received a very warm welcome from the staff, and Shelley very kindly gave us a lift to Brodick when it transpired we had missed the bus and there wasn't another one for two hours (!) - do check the timetable before you set off, as busses are not very frequent in this...
   Read moreLovely little tea room. No big meals but lots of refreshments including coffee and ice cream. Ideal for cyclists as right on the roadside. A good pitstop with bike racks, refreshments and toilets. Also, family orientated as area put aside for children to play. Jigsaws,lego soft toys,jigsaws etc.

The scones were light and tasty, with a thin bottom crust and still lukewarm from coming out of the oven. Other pastries looked good too. The tea room is simply decorated but the staff is friendly.
