Disappointed with this restaurant, have been to it numerous times but its certainly not the place it used to be. Waited ages for food and when it came it wasn't even warm, it was at the temperature you would give a young child, Yorkshire pudding was stone cold. We had previously spoken to owner about the length of time we had been waiting who told us that the meat was still being finished off in oven so if anything it should have been really warm. This restaurant used to be amazing, hopefully it gets back to what it was but the 10 of us who were there might not return. Came back tonight 28th October, a party of 6. Staff had laid out 2 tables for us, which I think they had been asked to do, we asked if we could just fit round one and they happily recorganised the tables. Our food was delicious and our waitress was lovely, we were slow at reading the menu but she patiently waited on us. Delighted to prove my 1st review wrong as it is a cosy restaurant and had always enjoyed going there. Thanks for a lovely evening. Taken the 3 star...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy wife and i held our wedding reception in here 25years ago when it was called the cool jade and had a lovely day with many great memories . we decided that it must be the venue for our 25th anniversary dinner . sadly we found the menu offered in the restaurant differed from the one advertised online with many of the dishes unavailable. my wife ordered a prawn linguine .with the pasta barely edible (undercooked) and a total of three prawns in the dish. I ordered a steak which was cooked perfectly and very nice however the chips that came with it were white and unappetising. Both meals were left unfinished and we left very disappointed. we complained by email the next day as the restaurant was very busy that night with people ordering from a set menu with a fixed price deal and to be very fair we were offered a full apology and a free meal as by way of compensation . which was very nice of Mitchell's to do however we decided not to take up the offer. Definitely not...
Read moreI bought £60 worth of vouchers for my wife's Christmas, I wish I had not, we booked a table for a Sunday night the premises looks tired. The young male waiter was pushing us to buy a drink before we got our jackets of to sit down it backfired we refused and had water, I had a duck starter which was edible, It took forever to get our main and then a bit longer. For the main my wife had chicken satay skewers minus the satay, the chicken was VERY dry so she did not eat it, I had baked cottage pie with shredded buttered cabbage and baked vegetable, all of which was awful, the cottage pie the mash potato was burnt and taste burnt the mince filling was so bland the buttered shredded cabbage was raw and so was the so called baked vegetables I left all of the main, the waitress noticed we never ate anything and only charged us for one meal, so I take it she knew the food was awful as well PUB GRUB AT ITS WORST we wont eat...
