Mount Cafe Restaurant — Restaurant in Scotland

Mount cafe is not a cafe, it is an excellent Nepalese restaurant. We were a family group of 6 that booked a table for an occasion. I had eaten a main here a while ago and remember I had been impressed by the quality and service then. Today reaffirmed this. Every appetizer was not just great, but tasted like they had been cooked with love. There were no short cuts. Fresh vegetables in the pakora, home made sauces and the best damn Raita I have ever tasted. We all opted for different house specials. They were lovely full flavored sauces, with seemingly no common base sauce. Depth in spices and cooked individually. Naan breads were perfect as well. With so many run of the mill curry places around available it is stunning to find this place. It is in many ways just a cheap curry, but the excellent service and the love and magic of a skilled serious chef lift it to be one of the best Nepalese or Indian meals I have had outside Asia. First time ordering. Read reviews. All very positive. Pasanda omg. The chicken bhuna..not really what I would call a bhuna. But....it was full of flavour. Fresh coriander. Creamy. Garlic nan and pilau rice. Full flavour. Chicken pakora was tender. The ideal taste I would expect. Spiced onions were well balanced. Not too much tomato sauce or mint sauce. Poppadums were light and crispy. I do not please easy when it comes to food. But this...i would give a 9 out of ten. Ok we waited over 45 mins. But it was fresh tasting and hot. 2 criticisms...the chicken in the curries were dry. Not so that I didn't eat some of it. Not did it put me off. And 2...a little more natural yoghurt and more mint in pakora sauce. I loved the food and I am so happy to find somewhere where you sense thought and taste has gone into this food. I won't be ordering from anywhere else again. My usual is always a score of 4 if I am lucky. I can't wait to try other dishes. Just under 20 quid for 2 people with delivery....

The food is very good and reasonably priced but it is let down by very poor delivery. At time of writing, it's Friday evening on 12/03/22. We placed our order at 6pm via Uber eats with a delivery time of 6.55pm. It is now 8.40pm and we're still waiting for our food! I phoned at 7pm and they told me the order hadn't been prepared yet! They apologised because it had been busy. I've tried phoning them back repeatedly but it's just ringing out. If you are going to use them, I suggest picking up from them yourself. Update the food finally...
