I had an unfortunate experience with Mr chef delivery driver. Food is amazing never had a problem before. But unfortunately I felt intimidated and alarmed by a man at my front door shouting at me . Made an order for pizza and a kids meal. Then asked them to add in extra portion of chips. Order came no extra chips. So I said to the delivery driver. Its OK just forget the chips as it was a windy night etc no need to come all the way back unfortunately his English was not so good but I got the impression he knew what I was saying. He was a pleasant man no problem. Half an hour later wee boy comes to the door with chips he never asked for money as I assumed as I gave them a 4.50 tip and they forgot them the first place fair enough. We boy comes back 5 minutes later asking for £8 which I refused. And explained I had already asked to cancel them and overpaid. He leaves. 5 minutes after that another adult male comes to the door demanding £8 (money for the chips plus an extra delivery fee) I explained the same to him as I did to the wee boy. I even gave him the chips back and refused to part with anymore money. He had his foot in my door screaming at me I also had to ask him to calm down and please leave . By this point I was actually a bit frightened. Door goes again asking me to speak to the shop . So I took the phone and explained for the 4th time the situation. I'm not paying £8 for stone college chips I cancelled like an hour before and was being yelled at by a delivery driver. My door was rattled 4 times. 3 times was to demand money an intimidate me. After I gave the phone back to them . The man a d young boy standing on my door step as I home alone might I add they demand all the food back which I had paid the previous driver for an hour earlier.i asked the 2 ppl to leave again. I then closed and locked all the doors and windows in my house. Genuinely felt afraid of this person. All conversations were so difficult as the English barrier was very difficult to understand. This is the worst customer service from any delivery person I have ever experienced. It was intimidating and blown way out of proportion simply because. I checked the footage on my ring door bell to check if I had maybe got this all wrong but I actually wasn't exagerating. I would of been within my rights to report this person for intimidation and harassment and I have the footage. I will never order from this shop again!!!!!!!! Read moreThe main problem with Mr Chef is they believe they can do nothing wrong, winning awards has raised their egos, so if anything is late, or something is wrong, or the food is bad, it isn't their fault it has to be yours.
You only have to look at Just Eat for that example, someone will tell that their food wasn't good and tasted bad, the usual response will be "Sorry you did not like insert food name it is very popular and loved by many" - because that somehow must mean it was perfect when sent out and can't be wrong.
Delivery times is also bad, they can be way over the 1hr mark despite having multiple drivers, another popular response for this is either "It left the shop 30 minutes after your order piping hot, and driver felt it was still very hot when delivering" or "our driver had car trouble and there was a backlog of orders".
So everything is an excuse when they do wrong. It is a disgusting way to treat customers.
As for the food as said it can be hit or miss, either cooked right or not, I have had a couple of curries that were not what was ordered, one time I had a Chicken Korma got a Chicken Jaipuri, another time a Lamb Chasni and got some medium strengthed curry of blandness instead. Quality of food can be lacking too, in terms of varying sizes of portions and varying stages of cooking.

Read morePlaced an order at 10pm tonight (20th July). Phoned shop around 11:30pm as Just Eat updated to say the food was delivered. We were told its happening a lot tonight and that it’s on its way and that they are really busy which is fine and I can accept that.
However, it’s now past midnight, the shop won’t answer the phone and there is no food and money taken out my account. Unbelievably, the shop is closed and despite me ringing they’ve taken the phone off the hook! How bad is that for service?? Charge me but then completely stiff me when I’m trying to find out what’s happening!
