We came here for my husband's belated 60 th birthday . We drove up from Lancaster, especially to go to this restaurant.we camped at fidden farm which is just down the road about 25 min walk. The restraint is in a lovely location and we were welcomed in at 7 pm and taken to our table. A lovely surprise to see a gift and a card for my husband's birthday.which I had completely forgot about when booking as his birthday was at the beginning of July. The ambience was lovely with some music playing in the background. We were waited on by a lovely lady and a gentleman in a kilt. The food was amazing! Also the drinks too. I had a gin and so did my husband and we don't touch the stuff, but it sounded so interesting with different herbs all grown locally.it was delicious. We had 5 courses all looked to good to eat. We finished by sharing a cheese board and a coffee. It's a very small homely resteraunt ,were everyone turns up at 7 pm and this works very well as you order everything at the start including your dessert. Thank you for a lovely evening. I would love to come again but as you will be focusing on group bookings and special occasions this may not be possible .I highly recommend a visit to...
Read moreVery good experience, would highly recommend. All food exceptionally delicious, combining local ingredients (seafood caught that morning and herbs and vegetables grown in the on-site garden) and some exotic flavours. I liked the idea of a set menu where each dish was carefully curated and everyone is having the same shared experience. The drinks list is full and varied, particularly for such a small and remote venue. I would say as a point of constructive criticism that the crackers which went with the cheese board were poor quality basic supermarket crackers which were not in keeping with the quality of the rest of the meal and made the cheese board slightly less enjoyable. I definitely wouldn't expect home made crackers but there are lots of nice artisan brands e.g. Peter's Yard or Fine Cheese Co. or a small business Scottish oatcake e.g. Adamson's oatcakes. We enjoyed a couple of home made Ninth Wave chocolates after dinner later and they were very nice, too. Thank you Carla and Jonny for your hospitality, we would definitely return if we found ourselves in...
Read moreThe Ninth Wave is located in a very unexpected location but it makes its charm. Hidden at the end of the Isle of Mull, the house is charming from the outside and the inside (beautiful flower garden in front of the restaurant).
Food wise, you will have the choice from one 3 or 4 course menu offering 3 dishes for each course. Dishes are prepared mainly with local, seasonal and organic produces from Mull such as the venison or the lobster. Funny story, the waiter who is also the owner, is also the fisherman who catches lobsters every day for the restaurant! Everything was delicious.
The service is impeccable.
The 3 course menu is £44 and the 4 course menu is £52
Advice: You have to book before going If you book, they will ask you for your card details and charge you if you don't show up £25 per person They are only open for diner except the...
