Stopped in for lunch on a very busy bank holiday Monday. Staff were impressively calm at dealing with slightly grumpy and impatient diners, to their credit. Was pleased at there being good vegan choices on the menu. I had a vegan cheese sandwich, and other half had haggis brunch. Will hopefully visit again next time we’re at Abbotsford, but probably avoid a hot, busy weekend!

We enjoyed the food. I went for the small fish, chips, tartar sauce and mushy peas. It was absolutely delicious and well cooked. Wished I had gone large afterwards. My wife had a smoked salmon sandwich with cream cheese, pickled dill cucumber, salads, crisps and coleslaw. It was also good.

Service and food was brilliant the staff were really helpfully and concerned when my friend had a coughing fit. They made sure everything was OK and assisted her with bringing water straight away. Definitely be back

It was busy when we arrived, sunday 27th / 8 ,and we do understand a busy kitchen, but that was ridiculous, we were given an option to sit outside under cover due to lack of tables, on a relatively chilly, rainy ,day. Fine, we were told the kitchen is busy - fine, we sat outside 45 mins , waited for food, all we ordered was 4 sandwiches and a soup... meanwhile, inside, there was a big free table, and even if reserved- we had plenty of time to use it as it was still unoccupied when we left. We asked to move indoors after 45 minutes as we spotted a free table, we also asked to see what was happening with the food. 10 minutes later, it arrived . Right... so , dry, salad with a tiny sandwich and crisps... took that long to put together, for the amount of money we paid we could have had 4 full , hot lunches. It's not our 1st visit, but we're very thinking it to...

Service very poor, long delay in serving a few cups of coffee and even longer delay in bringing scones which were part of the initial order. Scones presented long after coffee consumed. Excuses (1) only three members of staff working in dining room (2) order to kitchen not delivered due to faulty bell !!! Standard of coffee was poor unpleasant to drink.

Excuses (1) Issue with coffee making apparatus and unable to locate someone to repair. Why continue to use a machine known to be faulty ? Bright blue lights above table irritating. Received a 10% reduction in bill but no compensation for poor service and ...

I had read quite a lot of disappointing reviews about this cafe as in service slow tables not being cleaned etc however my hubby and I went today for lunch as our son had bought a voucher for his dads birthday. We did have to wait a while for our order to be taken however if I had wanted fast food I would have gone to McDonalds!!! The servers were very courteous and nice I had ordered the sirloin steak with mustard mayo etc and hubby ordered the stew with dumplings (or dough balls as we Scots call them) the food was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed sitting eating it on the...
