i could not believe it: a cafeteria on a ferry that served incredibly good food! On the way to the Isle of Lewis & Harris, we had the CalMac & Cheese - rich, creamy, flavourful; the fish and chips, as good as any we had eaten in chippies along the coast; a savoury steak pie with lovely pastry. On the way back, the husband ordered calamari, and it was the best ever. The calamari was sweet and so tender it was almost melt-in-your-mouth. Wow, i wish i had ordered it too. The staff was friendly, efficient and cheerful. On the return cruise to the mainland, one of the ladies remembered me, greeting like a friend. Way to go, CalMac!

What a surprise! Maybe it was naive of me but I did not expect to find such an excellent quality restaurant so far from the mainland. Absolutely delish food here in this lovely little gem in Tarbert. The seafood is heavenly and the staff could not be friendlier. You have to go here whilst on Harris, you will not be disappointed!

A really nice and fancy place for where it's located. It's an upscale eating experience with great food and service although lacking a bit in atmosphere. The food was great, the Cajun seasoned salmon is fresh and delicious, the steak is nice and tender and the desserts are great, overall a great place to eat.

After spending an enjoyable couple of weeks touring the Outer Hebrides, and mostly van cooking, we decides to treat ourselves with breakfast here.

We were not to be disappointed with a buffet with fruit juice, pastries, yoghurt, tea and coffee to begin with. For our starter we choose the delicious porridge with fresh strawberries, raspberries and maple syrup. Our main breakfast included Eggs Royale and Hebridean Tower - all delicious.

Service was great as well from the start - as we arrived when they were just finishing breakfast, and throughout. Thank you for agreeing to seat us and feeding...

We ordered 12 coffees for our group, but the bartender refused, saying he would not spend 30 minutes making them and would only make 5. His tone and attitude were extremely rude and unprofessional. When we later asked for a single latte, his reaction was again unpleasant. We also ordered 5 black coffees and requested a change, but he refused outright. Overall, the behaviour was unacceptable and completely spoiled our experience. Very...
