I spent a drizzly August afternoon in Pipers whilst I was in Tain for the day. It’s a really lovely cafe/coffee house that has an amazing range of teas, coffees and local bakes that you will definitely want to try as well as some hot snack options such as their breakfast rolls and soup.
As Pipers is a small family run company the cafe has a lovely family feel to it which most places lack these days. So overall if you’re looking for a relaxing place to sit and enjoy a cuppa this is the place to go. Everyone that works here is very welcoming and polite and I will definitely be returning next time I find myself in Tain! Well...

With less than 24 hours notice - Pipers Team were able to put everything together - including the most beautiful of china crockery!
We enjoyed freshly prepared sandwiches with delicious fillings like smoked salmon & cream cheese, as well as my favourite, bacon, Brie & cranberry - amongst others. More tray bakes and sweet treats than we could eat, and very tasty fresh strawberries dipped in chocolate.

We liked the mix of seating: chairs and tables also arm chairs and sofas, upstairs too. Casual atmosphere and a great place to relax. Lots of good ideas here, from the origanal local art for sale, book sales and a book exchange (bring one take one away) to the family friendly area for little ones to play.
