I have been in a couple of times and did not wish to write a bad review however after today I think that it’s fair to do so.

The service is bad. On two of the three occasions I visited, I was waiting upwards of fifteen minutes for a simple order - a filter coffee.

Today I visited and purchased three pastries - two croissants and a pain au chocolat costing £10.50, which I wouldn’t have bought had I known that was how much they were before the staff member bagged them.

All three pastries were stale when I purchased them (10:15am).

The coffee also doesn’t taste that good, and a filter coffee is also extremely expensive. At every Indy coffee shop I have been to, I paid around £1.80 - here a filter coffee is about £2.30.

Each time I have gone to ròst, I have been disappointed with the service and/or the food/drink I purchased.

Edited to add that since I have received a response from the owner I would like to clarify that yes today I was served immediately, but on both prior occasions I was waiting upwards of 15 minutes, it was not busy on either occasion.

And while I understand that the pastries are sourdough, they were definitely stale when they were consumed, and definitely not worth £10.50...

Coffee a tad bitter, Vic cake was moist enough BUT no wee fork to eat it with so I just used my tea spoon. Payment is by card only & it's difficult to cover your pin number - so please be aware of that be4 u venture in & dogs 🐕r allowed in as well & the staff were pleasant enough. WENT IN AGAIN ON WEDNESDAY 16TH NOV 2022 One if the waitress was clapping a small dog for about 4mins & I hope she washed her hands 🙌 after that. Emma was pleasent & easy to talk too. I had their lentil soup & as in most eating places that i frequent - I had to ask to get it heated up a bit more - which was no bother for them to do & it wasn't too thick or too watery - just fine & their coffee tasted good with a wee bit of sugar added to it. Their slice of Victoria sponge tasted gr8 & the butcher's next door sells the best tasting award winning B.P. (black pudding) from McCaskill's Weems Bay & if u like b.p. rember to by...

Staff were friendly, talkative and generally inviting. I went in with a dog and a baby and both were talked to and made to feel welcome. The dog was given a sausage and water, a touch that made the trip nicer. The food was good lovely, the choices are what can be described as artisan. Sourdough breads, pancakes, avocado on toast. The pancakes and bacon came with generous amounts of bacon. The coffee is of good quality offering a variety of origins. There was also luxury hot chocolate but I did not try it. Finally there is a single unisex toilet with baby change facilities, of which are at a good hight for myself at 6 2 my wife also thought it was a good height...

I love this little place. Whenever I'm working near Larbert I pop in for a coffee and something to eat. The food is delicious. The coffee is excellent. Service is always fab and there's always a smile somewhere, even when I once went and the electrics weren't working! Thank you again for a fabulous lunch. Take out or sit in. I'd recommend again and again.
