If you are looking for great food... the Route 7 Cafe has you covered, it has always been a firm favourite for us when in Aviemore. It's located within the Highland Home Centre in an industrial estate just as you come into the town, it really is a HIDDEN gem! You will be greeted upon arrival by two of their very small guard dogs who are super cute and follow you around as you navigate around several homely items up until you ascend to where all your food dreams come true. We normally stop here for breakfast but the portion sizes are unreal, the coffee really hits the spot and the staff are second to none. They have every food combo you could even think of catering for all food habits and at affordable prices, it would be rude not to adjust the satnav and try the Route 7 Cafe!

The coffee was terrible but it was perfect compared to the poor service. When we arrived, we were offered a table facing the wall despite several other tables being free. Only after we made it clear that we were not going to accept it, we were directed to another table where we were left to sit whilst two other tables that had arrived after us were served. When we complained we were met with complete indifference. Oh, yes, the coffee... Latte, but not as you know it. Foam that would be appropriate on a cleaning product. Temperature that would melt steel and the taste... Let's just say I've had better from a jar of instant.

What a great place, brilliant Vegan breakfast, really nice staff and reasonable prices. I really want to give this place five stars, but my word, the facilities need some work, like a diamond ring on the unwashed hand of a mechanic. We have a toilet seat that needs replacing, toilet none brush with remains of, missing flush button, rusty and unclean soap dispenser, questionable electrics, a door stop that wants a good clean, and would it hurt to remove the stuff that fixed something to the back of the door. I'll certainly be returning as this is a great place, but I only hope some improvement has been made by then.

This was recomended to us by someone who knows the area but hasn’t been in several years. Sadly, I think it must have gone downhill. Two of the best looking menu items online are not on the menu anymore when you arrive. Which didn’t leave many options at all as it was already a small menu. The smashed avocado didn’t come smashed, which we discovered was because it was hard and not ripe so you couldn’t smash it. My wife’s coffee was weirdly watery compared to the rest of the table’s. I went for a basic roll and lorne sausage since the two things I planned to have from the online menu were both gone (French Toast / Homemade Granola). It was maybe the worst roll and sausage I’ve had. My sister’s poached egg was clearly cooked in some kind of silicon shape which I could even forgive but it was also undercooked even for a poached egg. Overall, nothing really positive to say. It’s not the easiest place to find and if I were you I wouldn’t bother going out of my way to...

THE best breakfast I've ever had in a cafe. The breakfast feast truly delivers on its banquet oriented promise and will satisfy any hangover hunger. Whilst the overall content was within established norms of a Scottish breakfast the delivery was fantastic. The black pudding and haggis retained the moisture so often lacking in such plates along with the perfectly cooked egg. The baked bean volume was the perfect alternate moisture delivery system, and no, I did not run dry on beans by the end of the plate, amazing bean judgement. Flip over the tattie scone over and BOOM, two ... TWO!! perfect sausages. Friendly service and some excellent tunes cascading from the kitchen rounded this experience off nicely. My wife had the French toast which also lambasted previous attempts in other establishments into the...

Have visited here numerous times in the past with no issue however the last couple of times last week were nothing short of dire. Let me just say the food is excellent so no problems there - it's the service (or lack of). We visited for breakfast and eventually our drinks order was taken. I told the waitress we were ready to order food but she said the kitchen staff were not. A couple who had arrived after us got their drinks before us - sorry, but I just think this is really shoddy and shouldn't happen. I saw another couple complain I think because we arrived after them and they hadn't had their order taken either. The next time I went in for takeaway and ended up standing there at the counter like a lemon for about 10 minutes - none of the kitchen staff acknowledged me so I just left and went to...
