Sapphire — Restaurant in Scotland

This was our go to Chinese for almost 2 years since we moved to Murieston. Honestly every weekend would order a meal. The last 2/3 times we’ve ordered not only have they put their prices up which we don’t mind and understand with what’s going on but they have reduced their portion sizes and they are so tiny it’s ridiculous. They have started using smaller plastic containers than they normally do so portions don’t even feed one person never mind to share. Chip bag is only ever half full and we ordered prawn toast and got 1 slice cut into 4 quarters and paid £4.50 for it. It’s made the decision for us we won’t order again. They have lost a good loyal customer who probably spends a good bit of money when we have family over etc just for short term gain of saving a little in portion sizes they have lost an income from a loyal customer. Really disappointed and hope someone sees this so they can make changes as a few of our friends who live in Murieston have said the exact thing and will end up loosing custom...

Phoned for takeaway,normally this place is good on delivery ordered lots of times but tonight the woman taken the order said 40 min so expected abit late as busy, after an hour told it was on its way after hour and half rang again said the delivery person was at St johns delivering food to hospital,and he was on his way it took nearly 2 hours and the person who took the order could of said after the hour that it was going to be alot longer then we would of cancelled the order and gone somewhere else...the delivery guy told us he only had the order half an hour so the woman on the phone was not telling the truth....disappointed as both hungry and as I said we understand if busy just need to inform customers so we have the choice to order somewhere else.The food is good the person on the phone wasnt...update ordered again and this time very helpful said an hour arrived half and hour, great food hope you continue sapphire...big difference this time woman on phone...

How this place has 3.7 stars I’ll never know.

It’s genuinely an absolute disgrace.

We had guests last night and we decided to order some food in. After looking through the reviews and some of the pictures, we decided at first it was probably best to avoid the place. However, we thought we’d give it a chance because not all the reviews were terrible and we were hungry etc.

Yeah. Never again.

Not only were the chips 30% cooked and soggy, not only was the food completely disgusting BUT it was also covered in hair.

We genuinely could have made a wig from all the hair and other bits of gunk in our foods combined.
