Scott Skinner's Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Scotland

We've been looking for a place to take our family and friends for sometime now around Deeside. We like proper food that taste great and doesn't break the bank. Everywhere we've looked at seems to serve that posh looking stuff that costs a fortune and most of the plate is empty leaving you hungry and broke.

Scott Skinner's is a proper pub/restaurant that has a warm welcome, friendly staff, clean and comfortable and serves great food. My parents enjoyed themselves and we all had a great time. The steak pie was fantastic which three of us had, and my wife loved the scampi and chips, the puddings were also faultless. I ordered a burger, and was told that they were unable to add cheese, sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, or anything else. I was served a thin, crispy, dry, and overly cooked burger patty between a bun, all for the affordable price of 14£. Absolutely the worst quality of food that I’ve received at that price point. There was no salt, and little flavor to the burger. The fries which accompanied it were fine, but the coleslaw was perhaps the worst part of the whole meal. Really cozy, welcoming pub, there is a proper dining room however we did not see this. Took a chance and popped in after a long day's work and walking and wasn't disappointed. The staff were very welcoming and gave us a comfy table in the bar. They provided a really good gluten free menu with lots of good options available. We had the chicken curry with rice and chips and a side of veg. It's good old fashioned hearty pub grub and hit the spot perfectly, exactly what we needed.
