Oh how I wish I had more places like this that offers amazing local food for a decent price. Found Sinclair's larder on my travels around Scotland and I will be letting everyone know that this place is not just a must visit but it's a you better visit. You won't be disappointed. Serves amazing tasted good with great portions. Has outside seating. Parking on street. Very nice welcoming staff. It also has a small gift shop stocked with local artist products. And it has a disabled toilet. Look folks this place I cannot praise enough for its food. Include it in your must places to visit. You will not regret it.

We came for lunch on a busy Sunday and managed to get a space outside as we had our dog with us. The coffee is excellent (and I have high standards!) and we had a delicious lunch. The soup and sandwich were a big portion and both were delicious. I had the pastrami sandwich with lovely soft bread and the butternut squash and Stilton soup was up there with the best I’ve had. My partner had the beef burger, which was also delicious. Along with friendly, fast service this made for a perfect lunch. I hope we’ll be close enough to come back another time!

First time visit. Sat with our dogs in the covered outside area on a lovely warm day. One beef burger and one wild boar burger. Both perfect and served with exceptional skin-on chips. Staff were very welcoming and the atmosphere was warm and friendly. We came because of the great reviews and we appreciated straight away that these were well deserved. Definitely planning to return soon.

It’s a shame that I have only recently discovered this place. As a kid, growing up in the area, it was always just the Mace to me, so I never really gave it much attention. Then, my girlfriend and I were driving past, feeling rather hungry, and she spotted it. At first, I was rather sceptical - “a place like that in edzell is bound to be average at best!” I thought to myself. But when we sat down in it, it had such a homely feel to it! As soon as we were sat fown, we were greeted by obe of the many friendly members of staff to asl us if we were wanting the menus. After we had both ordered, we sat looking about the place and enjoyed studying the local map drawn in chalk up on the wall, showing all the local landmarks! While we were waiting for the food to arrive, they brought us a bowl of crisps which I dug clean into, munching and chomping my way through them. They were like crack to me. I later discovered that these were veggie crisps. I just couldn’t get enough of them! As for our food, as a rule of thumb, I always order burgers when I eat at a place for the first time - you can tell a lot about places depending on their burgers and it’s almost a universal food that you can get anywhere. But, what can I say? It honestly felt like there was a party in my mouth and everyone was invited. The meat, cheese, salad and brioche bun, came together in perfect harmony, a tasty, tasty harmony... well done to you, Sinclair’s Larder! We shall be back time...
