On entering the Restaurant we were given no welcome just ushered quickly to a table. The table next to us was so close that we could have touched elbows, if we needed to leave the table we would have needed to squeeze carefully out of the tight space to avoid disruption to the next table. The position of the tables left us with no privacy what so ever. The waitress came with the menus which were very much in need of a wipe with clean with a cloth. Staff returned to take the order and we had to ask if we could get a drink too. The food came about 30 mins later, but the waitress seemed to forget the order and part was missing. No apology was given, just a frosty face, she turned and went back for the rest of the food to complete the order. It was not hard to see she could not care less. We had asked for more drinks and the dessert menu. After we received this we then became invisible. Staff moving all around us but no acknowledgement. The Manager backwards and forwards clearing tables etc instead of managing his staff. The table next to us again filled up with a large party. While we sat next to them waiting for our orders to be taken they had given their orders and starters served. We waited then for a short time only, fed up with the unattentive staff we got up to leave. While waiting to pay the bill nobody enquired as to why we were leaving before finishing our meal. Very poor service. Looks like the staff have had...

Been going to Souters for a number of years but over the last three visits I've felt the new male server has rushed our visit and is far from polite. On previous visits he's seen we've finished our deserts and went straight to the bill without offer of coffee or tea! As he wears only a white shirt I assume he holds a senior position so I hope the usually friendly staff do not follow his lead. Last night started by being asked for drink orders as we where taking our jackets off... Good God man don't rush your diners. I ordered Calamari which is usually delicious, on this occasion it was tough beyond comprehension so I done something I've never done before and returned my starter to the kitchen, the above waiter attended insisting he could not understand me on five occasions! Finally he got the point and snatched the plate saying "all of the other Calamari in the kitchen would be the same" so he'll bring over the menu for me to reorder, as my friends where already eating I declined and opted to go straight to the main, this was met with a grunt and a look that could cut, not even an apology for serving a poor starter. After desert guess what, straight to bill..... Come on Souters get your act together and look after your customers as...

We're camping at a site not far from this Inn, and as we were looking for somewhere to eat out tonight after arriving and setting up we looked through the reviews of local restaurants and this one jumped out right away - the reviews were almost all gushing with praise about the quality of the food - so we decided to give it a go. Good call. The food was genuinely stunningly good, absolutely first class, served quickly and red hot too. I'd go so far as to say it was one of the best meals we've had anywhere. My Korean sticky ribs were melt-in-the-mouth, and the lamb chops were thick and tender and perfectly cooked. Simply first class. We treated ourselves to a sundae each for dessert and they were huge, with OMG-good locally produced ice cream and lovely sauce, too. As I said, one of the best meals we've had anywhere in our travels. Very friendly and attentive staff too.

What a beautiful place to eat. This place is impressive. The grounds are beautiful and extremely well kept, the interior is very well decorated and extremely well kept. The staff Very polite, very courteous and very pleasant. The restaurant is beautiful, very well kept and of a very high standard. The food I could not fault the food in any way shape or form, it was perfect. This restaurant was packed and had a line of people waiting to eat. My one and only criticism would be because it was so busy it was really noisy. This is not a fault the staff or the restaurant could do anything about and is a victim of its own success in that respect. Some people don’t mind this I sadly do, but like I say it has no reflection on the restaurant, The staff or the food. Would I eat here again? Without a shadow of a doubt yes I would. Amazing food guys thank you.

Souters Inn is a very well presented place to eat, a tad more upmarket than we're used to but it was a special occasion so we decided to treat ourselves. The food was quite good, I'm not sure I could justify the prices of the food as I had the steamed salmon & the greens were quite underdone, however the sauce and salmon were excellent. The plates are designed to make your portion size look much bigger & the pudding too was good but a little on the expensive side. Service was on point, if even a little too hasty. My father was still eating when someone offered to take away our plates, giving him a slight complex. It was all a little rushed, good and bad really. I don't think we would come back on account of the heavy prices etc but I'd certainly say it was a lovely place to go.
