The cafe and shop are nice but there is a disconnect between their opening hours. Please check out the photo and I'd urge the owners to clarify on Google when cafe opens. When I was here it was to catch the 10am boat to jura. Arrived at 0930 expecting cafe to be open, but the Google hours refer the shop, not the cafe! See photo.

Popped in hear after a boat trip from Crinan. Sat outside with a very nice view of the pay. All food ordered was very good (I had the roasted veg panini) and drinks were nice also. Friendly staff and prices were good. We found parking but if it was busy i believe that would have been a different story.

Friendly local shop, and really the only one in Tayvallich. Usually have enough supplies to get you through to the next major shop in Lochgilphead. The coffee shop was closed while we were there for a coupe of weeks.

Oh dear! Where to start. Staff are uncommunicative to the point of being rude. Service wasn’t just slow it was beyond the joke. 45mins wait. There were 3 other tables in at the time. From the second we arrived the service was shockingly bad. No one spoke not even a basic hello. Coffees served after 15 mins and by the time lunch arrived they were cold/drunk. Expensive too. I hate leaving bad reviews but this place was dreadful.

Edit in response to owners comments. We ARE kind and we ARE polite so your comments are incorrect. The white haired lady serving us had a poor attitude and I don’t imagine it’s because she is shy or was having an off day when I now read other reviews which funnily enough say the same things. I applaud you for taking on young people but if the owners attitude/manners are poor this filters down to staff. We’ll pass on your kind offer of revisiting having gone to many other places on our holiday we know the service here is not typical...

Visted 30/7/23. Don't expect a happy or warm welcome, we were ignored for a good few minutes when we went in, despite one or two servers glancing at us. When I asked one of them who appeared to be doing nothing if I could order, the other said I'd be seen to in a bit. After a few moments I was looked at, which I took as my prompt to order...thankfully I was right.

Lemon cake tasted ok, latte tasted hotter than it should have been. View nice but other than that, wish we went to the cafe at the Sea Lock instead or the caravan park.

Small business or not, no excuse for poor manners or coffee that's too hot.

Wouldn't return, atmosphere higher due to...

Fantastic cafe set in a stunning location. The food and coffee was first class and reasonably priced. The lady who was working was extremely polite and helpful. Views are outstanding, looking over the bay. Lots of covered seating outside if the weather allows. Small car park opposite, on a steep slope. Toilets were clean and well cared for. This is a gem of a place. If you are passing through Tayvallich do yourself a favour and stop off. Also has the...
