Best lunch in a long time. What a spot! Reached by a single track rollercoaster of a road this place had food to match the views. We hadn't booked in advance, (who does that for lunch) but were seated in a very pleasant area with beautiful views of the comings and goings on the water set against a backdrop of wooded hills seemingly designed to make the Scottish Tourist Board drool. I have always known we live in one of the most beautiful countries on earth, but this place takes that to new extremes. The approach is part of the pleasure, narrow slivers of sea lochs penetrate deep inland, the switchback road ocassionaly running alongside them with glimpses of even better sights to come. When you round the final bend and see the village in its entirety it is as perfect a place as I've seen anywhere. Food was very good, portions generous and the service from Pedro efficient and friendly....

Travelled through beautiful scenic countryside to try this restaurant out. Arrived to be greeted by a very annoyed and rude foreign man perhaps from Europe. Saying angerily we should have booked and we were fortunate tonight to get a table, next time you come book first. The place was empty and throughout eating remained so. Went to the bar for a drink and rudely told you shouldn't come to bar wait for your server to come back. (By the way other people were ordering drinks at the bar with no problem) Our waitress would have been a while as she was away to wait on our food arriving. Really made a special outing ruined. We felt we were not wanted or good enough. We were dressed decently and arrived in a BMW. So thank you for ruining our last day of our trip. May I also say he petted several dogs and continues serving tables without...

I phoned the restaurant to book a table for 7 people. We were running late to be there before the 2-hour kitchen closer. The young girl I have spoken to was very helpful and friendly. The fact we were going to be late did not seem to be a bother (this is not an encouragement for folk to be late though 😆) We were seated at the huge family table which was just perfect for us. The bar-restaurant is a family oriented with a nice wee kids menu. The food is delicious and the portions are huge and very affordable. We were served by Pedro who was very polite and on the boll with orders. I would highly recommend this place as it is an absolute gem with...

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Tayvallich Inn. The staff were helpful, welcoming and helpful, the atmosphere was nicely relaxed (in the bar anyway) and the food was wonderful! We both opted for a scallops starter, a rare and favourite treat. We were not disappointed! Beautifully presented, the scallops were served with the most delicious chorizo, cauliflower puree and pea greens. The scallops were super fresh and cooked perfectly. For mains, we stuck with the seafood theme. I opted for the smoked Haddock and my wife, the cod loin. Again, the dishes were well presented and contained delicious fresh ingredients cooked to perfection. Cant wait to return!!!

Generally, one of the best restaurant I've ever been! The environment - breathtaking views, so delicious food (enormous amount of cullen skin - really tasty!!), perfect hot chocolate (I did need it so much...) and the most important - fantastic staff. Those people helped me so much when I missed my ferry... They were so understanding and even relieved me of my tragic situation. So generous people (they even fed me properly - just have a look at photos...). I'll always remember about them. I highly recommend The Tayvallich Inn - and if I could give them even more stars - I would happily do that!

Fantastic understated birthday lunch. Went early and has a lovely table in the bar by the window, stunning views and even on a chilly summer day it was giving the illusion of a warm day through the window. Cold girls will know what I mean, can't be sitting out freezing now. Food and service was fantastic, we had pork tacos and mussels with chilli, both big portions and very tasty. Good value when you see the size of the meal. Washed down with a couple of cocktails and more drinks at the bar. Lovely couple of hours spent out on a Sunday. Staff very friendly without being too much. Recommended
